@falken_cat@OSNet_cloud In Scotland if I ask for any sauce it must be UK curry. all the time. curry on fish, chips, mashed potato's, pasta... Like wtf?! how does tartar sauce sound like curry?
But I think it's brain auto-complete too.
@falken_cat@OSNet_cloud It's what always worried me about French & Spanish is that it's so easy to 'sound right' in foreign ears but be so wrong... In chinese it's just radically different meanings, so you just speak jibberish.
So since were running OS/2 programs on Windows, and I know it runs on crossover, the next logical step is to package it up and put it on Boxed Wine!

Hopefully cloudflare caches this! lol
it'll start you off in a CMD prompt.. a new 32bit native CMD prompt. Ive had AI add ps/kill command history and tab completion! demos, are in the demo directory, and if the EXE is flagged as a Presentation Manager program it'll automatically start it in that mode, so no messy consoles!
Neko gets confused under boxed wine, and runs away... otherwise everything else seems okay!
for sure, and the whole OMF vs COFF/PE thing. Although I'm not sure why I never tried to output the assembly and get MASM to accept it.. it was like 6 sed scripts. But then again an idiot like me with multiple Ghz available vs a 486 at 33Mhz at best..
What I found was odd after finally getting a ddk iso is that the msc 6/386 was still on there.. I guess quite a lot of the kernel remained MS C/386 6 in order to not break it
yeah I am 100% sure they are!
If going through the hoops of magic to get a 3rd party subsystem was a thing I'd be doing that... But that's never going to happen.
I guess in reactos it's possible to just add another subsystem, but OS/2 would be back to the burner, I kinda like going through Win32 process API for now, and a Hyper-V process for a v2 to bring OS/2 to Windows... in a wine kinda way.
I've got to find what was the OS/2 2.0 GA sdk... what compiler/clib was it from IBM.. I know get a time machine lol As fun as it is using MSC from 1991, that libc feels more like 1989.
@falken_cat@OSNet_cloud id only seen the ms cobol in the wild and it's 16bit... is microfous available as a 32bit os/2?
If so can you DM me a 32bit hello world? asking for an AI that needs OS/2 hello worlds...
@BillHeyman I guess at some point Ill have to get the AI to remove Win32 calls where available and call the ntrtl ... so it'll be more like the NTOS/2 of 1990... lol
This is pretty amazing! a £36 cartridge for the ST that'll take over the ST as a parasite/tube style co-processor! Of course it run DooM! This is too cool!
