@yacineMTB I usually use plan mode to build some doc that contains detailed project essense and architecture and I always can't believe how bad it in summarizing text
@_cehrm@MecAgent Yeah and this agreement was in time when we used hand controlled lathes and mills. I thibk its not that hard to embedd that info in 3d file, I can put surface finish like material, and put tolerances to dimensions while sketching.
@_cehrm@MecAgent We do a lot of work to repeat same info that already contained in 3d model to put a couple notes. Its make a lot of sense to make a way to put this notes in 3D model
@dillmann_bd@MecAgent Drawings are still used to make notes, set tolerances, surfaces, materials and they usually serve as the source of truth in case of disputes.
But it does not make much sense, we just need a better format for 3D models that can contain notes, it's not that hard
@dillmann_bd@MecAgent For a long time we made drawings for people who worked on lathes. It made sense: even if you had a laptop, paper was more convenient near the machine.
Now we send STEP to manufacturer. They open it in CAM and make program for CNC. There is no practical reason to use drawings.
