Perfect people aren't real and real people aren't perfect. So, you either love people for their flaws or hate them because they are real.

The classics are worth reading at any age, but they resonate in shocking ways as you get older. I didn’t really “get” Great Expectations until I’d suffered some pretty painful humiliations in my teens and twenties. Here in my late thirties I’ve found myself desperate for practical wisdom about how the world works and our purpose and place in it. And increasingly I gravitate to writers (such as Dante, Proust, Cao Xueqin, Jane Austen and George Eliot) who can offer that. When you reach middle age you find yourself occasionally waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night wondering if you’ve wasted your life, wondering how to be a good person. And when that happens, you’ll find that the classics bring solace and wisdom.

It has just occurred to me that this event is coinciding with the launch of the gold refinery in Burkina Faso.
I will keep saying that context is everything. Sovereignty is the game changer, not the factory. When Traore builds a refinery and our philosopher-king invites someone to build one, they are not doing the same thing.
Kenyans "first" is bigotry. Not sovereignty.

Hi Kenya and @StandardKenya
Do you want a corrupt criminal handling the most of your Kenyan money?
Pretty sure Charles Kerich - who is responsible for more money than anyone else in Kenya as CEC of Nairobi County - has been breaking the law.
He’s been director & shareholder (via his brother Andrew as proxy) of VeGrid Ltd. For the US branch he is actually shareholder himself - check https://t.co/EvxEIg6vGR
🇰🇪 Kenyan law is quite clear about conflicts of interest for public officials.
If you are a County Executive Committee (CEC) member, you are a State officer. You cannot use public office to advance your own private business interests.
📌 Constitution, Article 75: A State officer must avoid conflicts between personal interests and public duties and cannot put private interests ahead of the public interest.
📌 Constitution, Article 77 + Leadership & Integrity Act, s.26: A full-time State officer is restricted from other gainful employment, particularly where it conflicts with the office or impairs independent judgment.
📌 Conflict of Interest Act 2025, s.19: A public officer cannot be a party to or beneficiary of a goods, works or services contract with their own reporting entity—and cannot use official power to award or influence a contract in which they have a private interest.
📌 Leadership & Integrity Act, s.35: You cannot simply do indirectly through another person what would breach the integrity rules if you did it yourself.
Oh and I have recordings and will swear under oath in court Vegrid Ltd. CEO tom ogutu told me charles kerich is the actual director, and he also admitted he is making corrupt illegal moves to benefit the solar company.

I hope scholars of the arts and humanities are watching very carefully the degradation of African arts. We tell our children that they can make African musical instruments like toys from trash, but do we tell them to make pianos and saxophones in the same way? No. We teach them to play western instruments, but we don't teach them to make African instruments from discarded materials. And why? Because we don't take the arts seriously. We don't have music teachers to teach because we call that useless to the market.
So, Kenyan artists, do you really expect the government to take you seriously, like really, when they treat the arts like that? And let's start by dropping that title "creatives." You're artists. Meaning you have a skill and you do real work. "Creative," is something everybody is, and when you accept to be called that, you're accepting that there's nothing that you do except what everybody does. Meaning you do no work, and if you do no work, you do not need to be paid. #CBCisheretostay https://t.co/M3vDeLEa6s
Now that they've accepted Ruto is a killer we can move on to the next conversation
Why would you support a killer when we have other candidates who have never killed anyone?
Something deeper is at play in the issuance of passports to characters like Hamdan and Chivayo amongst others. Regional and global geopolitical plays that are this brazen are now ordinary in a world of fortress capitalism. Any response has to be driven by Kenyans. We are our own saviours.
Kenya is governed by the rule of law.
No, investor, billionaire or not can circumvent this and term those seeking legal redress “trouble makers.”
Article 1 of our Katiba confirms that Sovereign Power rests with WaKenya.
Not the President. Not Billionaires.

Ruto has captured all our institutions.
The police and other institutions are serving only one person.
We must end this.
We must restore our institutions to the people of Kenya.

A significant victory for public interest and the rule of law.
The Court of Appeal has declared null and void the proceedings and consent orders that led to the KSh 2.4 billion payment over the Ruaraka public land dispute, holding that the High Court lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter. The case has now been remitted to the Environment and Land Court for fresh determination.
This judgment reinforces a basic constitutional principle: public land and public money must be protected through lawful and transparent processes.
The next step is accountability. Every shilling paid under the void orders must be accounted for, and the responsible institutions must act on the Court’s decision.
