DAY 8 & day 3/final dig day - 2000 year old hammer stone, exposing Roman floor stones, Victorian ceramics & the dig site

DAY 7 after the dig. Explored an old churchyard. Came across Viking Hogbacks and unusual gravestones

DAY 7 & day 2 of the dig. Trowelled thru the Victorian layer & started to reveal the sandy soil of the medieval era. Some finds today - whetstone, glass bottle stopper still in neck of the bottle & struck quartz. This is a former meadow inside a royal park not touched for years

DAY 6 - and the first day of the dig. My contribution to the excavation, Walls of the Iron Age/Roman settlement revealed and a view this time from the top of the Wallace Monument and inside
