Two babies were trapped inside a burning home as thick smoke filled the rooms.
The people who rushed to help were just 10 and 11 years old.
Isiah Francis and Jeremiah Grimes were nearby when they realized young children were still inside. They called 911, but with the fire spreading, they knew they couldn’t just stand there and wait.
Isiah went inside through the smoke while Jeremiah helped from outside. Even though he could barely see and was afraid of getting burned, Isiah kept searching until he found a 1-year-old boy and an 8-month-old baby and got them both out safely.
Firefighters arrived shortly after and rescued two other children from the home.
Isiah and Jeremiah were just kids themselves, but when two babies needed help, they acted.
Their names are Isiah Francis and Jeremiah Grimes, and they both deserve recognition for what they did that day.
Eric Chavez won six straight Gold Gloves at third from 2001 to 2006 and hit 20 or more homers in every one of those seasons.
Those Oakland teams get talked about for pitching and Moneyball. Chavez was quietly the best defensive third baseman in the league for six years while also hitting 20 a year.
