Radar loop of #Nicholas.#Nicholas made landfall at 12:30 CT in eastern parts of Matagorda,Tx with winds of 75 mph. Strong winds and gusts above 50 mph spread inland into the Houston metro. Lowest Pressure locally was of 993.8 hpa. First SETX Hurricane strike since Ike in 2008.

Initial @NHC_Atlantic tracks have it in Houston by Fri.

Remember, much can still change, especially before a defined COC forms. Models & track also indicate this could run over parts of LA midweek, which would change the evolution of this.
