JIH President, Syed Sadatullah Husaini Condemns Israeli Strikes on Iran: Calls It a Reckless Act of War

New Delhi: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Syed Sadatullah Husaini, has strongly condemned the unprovoked military strikes launched by Israel on multiple sites across Iran, including sensitive nuclear installations and residential areas.

In a statement to the media, Syed Sadatullah Husaini stated: “Israel’s brazen and unprovoked assault on the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter. Striking civilian and military targets, including nuclear research facilities, in the heart of a sovereign country without any international mandate or imminent threat is a reckless act of war and nothing short of state terrorism. Reports indicate that Israel targeted the Natanz nuclear facility, among others, and that top Iranian military leaders, nuclear scientists, and civilians have been killed. This dangerous military aggression could trigger a devastating regional conflict and potentially spiral into a global crisis. The world cannot afford another war in West Asia. The silence and passive complicity of powerful nations is deeply disturbing.”

Referring to the justification offered by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding Iran’s nuclear capability, Syed Sadatullah Husaini remarked, “These unilateral allegations are neither new nor substantiated. Iran has repeatedly maintained that its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes. International institutions like the IAEA should be the arbiter, not states complicit in blatant genocide and war crimes, acting as judge, jury, and executioner. The killing of senior Iranian military leaders and scientists are gross violation of human rights and international norms. We urge the United Nations and the international community to take urgent steps to de-escalate the situation and hold Israel accountable. We demand immediate global intervention and sanctions against the aggressor. Failure to act will set a dangerous precedent for impunity and lawlessness in international relations.”

War and strife are not in anyone's interest: Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind

The continued tension, shelling, and attacks between India and Pakistan are a serious cause of concern. We appreciate the declaration by Indian officials that there is no intention to escalate the conflict. We hope that there will soon be concrete progress toward lasting peace.
Both countries are striving to overcome poverty and deprivation and working for the prosperity and progress of their people, and both are nuclear powers. In such a situation, war and unrest serve no one’s interest and will most severely harm the poor populations of both countries. We hope that the political and military leadership of both countries will now take swift and concrete steps toward sustainable peace.
There are continued reports of the deaths of ordinary Indian citizens living in border areas. The threats faced by innocent civilians demand our immediate attention. We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed and demand that the government provide these families with all necessary assistance and protection on a priority basis. According to media reports, several civilians have also been killed on the other side of the border. The killing of innocent civilians - especially women and children - regardless of their race, religion, language, nationality, or class, is deeply tragic. It is the collective responsibility of all parties to ensure, under all circumstances, the protection of innocent human lives.
Terrorism is a grave issue in the region. Many precious and innocent lives have been lost to it in our country, and people in Pakistan, too, have been its constant victims. Now is the time to rise above narrow interests and focus on finding a lasting solution to this core issue.
