WHAT. A. GAME.
All wins are great, but a late-inning comeback on the road is something else!! Here are all the details from tonight's game...
The Okotoks Dawgs earned a hard-fought come-from-behind victory tonight over the Weyburn Beavers by a final score of 12-6 in 11 innings. It was a game the Dawgs led most of the way early on, but Weyburn came alive late, making way for the late inning heroics from Okotoks. The Dawgs have been on the road all week, now boasting a 4-1 record on this trip.
The tone was set by Emmett Stacher (Linn Benton Community College) who smacked a 1st inning home run to give the Dawgs an early lead. Landon Kauffman (University of Portland) also had a solid night, going 3-for-6 with three RBI. Jordan Kievman (Wright State University) came up big with a big hit as well, going 3-for-5 with a walk and three RBI. Aidan Dougherty (University of Washington) came through in the clutch for Okotoks, hitting a game-tying, pinch hit two-run home run in the top of the 9th.
The Dawgs pitching was led by a stellar outing from starter Evan Lehnert (Linn Benton Community College) who went five shutout innings, striking out four. Braken Rice (Faulkner University) came on to work late, holding the Beavers scoreless in the 8th. Max McRaray (University of Houston) then came on to pitch the final three innings. McRaray was masterful tonight, throwing three shutout innings and striking out seven.
With the win, the Dawgs now move to 26-10 on the year. Okotoks continues their road trip tomorrow afternoon when they take on the Regina Red Sox. First pitch is set for 2:05 p.m. For tickets and team info, visit https://t.co/2aem3qMZKN or call 403-262-3294.
Pups WIN!! The boys took care of business tonight against Brooks to move 10 games above .500
What a performance by the bullpen late, just beautiful 🤗🐶 Read all about it below...
The offence found its rhythm for the Okotoks Dawgs in the 3rd inning today as they defeated the Brooks Bombers 7-5 in front of 5,688 fans Tuesday night at Seaman Stadium. The Dawgs put up a gutsy performance today against a feisty Bombers squad. It was a picture-perfect night at the ballpark, with blue skies and no wind, making for ideal playing conditions.
The Dawgs’ offense was led on the day by Ricky Sanchez (Gonzaga University) going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and an RBI in his new spot at the bottom of the order. Jordan Kievman (Wright State University) went 1-for-4 with three RBI and a walk. Turner Zdunich (Colby Community College) also had a nice night, going 1-for-4 with an RBI.
The Dawgs pitching was led by starter Brody Papay (Wright State University), who threw five strong innings, allowing three runs, but just two earned, and striking out five while picking up the win. The bullpen once again came in and did the job in the closing innings. Tonight it was Grady Keljo (University of Portland), Blake Smith (Seattle University), and Max McRaray (University of Houston) who were dominant in the win, going a combined 3 innings, allowing two runs, but just one earned run. The Dawgs trio also combined for 6 strikeouts in those 4 innings. The Dawgs closed it out in the 9th with Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University), setting down the Brooks hitters and sending them on their way. The bullpen continues to be rock solid for the Dawgs.
The Dawgs now move to 16-6 on the year. Okotoks now looks ahead to their roadtrip, beginning against the Fort McMurray Giants, June 24. Their next home game is Canada Day, July 1, against the Sylvan Lake Gulls. First pitch for both is set for 7:05 p.m. For tickets and team info, visit https://t.co/2aem3qMZKN or call 403-262-3294.

The Okotoks Dawgs showed their toughness today in a 9-6 come-from-behind victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks in front of a crowd of 6127 on a sunny afternoon at Seaman Stadium. The Dawgs now extend their season-long winning streak to six games. The Dawgs timely offence came through for them big time in some clutch situations as they battled hard for this one.
The Dawgs’ potent offence on the day was led by another standout performance by Dawgs Academy alum Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University), who went 3 for 4 at the plate, with 3 RBI, including a 2-run homerun to tie it in the bottom of the 7th. Fellow Dawgs Academy alum, Ricky Sanchez (Gonzaga University) also had a good day, going 2 for 3 on the day with a walk. Newcomer Emmett Stacher (Linn-Benton Community College) also has a nice afternoon, going 1 for 3 with an RBI.
Ayden Crouse (Indiana University) stole the show this afternoon however, when he came off the bench to pinch hit in the bottom of the 10th. Crouse came through with a pair of runners on, hammering a 1-2 count fastball over the fence in left, and walking it off. That was Crouse’s 2nd homerun of the season.
Pitcher Tyson Willis (George Mason University) got the start on the mound for the Dawgs, going 5 strong innings and allowing just 2 runs. The back end of the Dawgs bullpen was also lights out today, with Wyatt Sadleir and Ashton Luera combining for 4 shutout innings to close the game. The two also combined for 6 strikeouts in those 4 innings. Luera earned his first win of the season, with the help of Crouse and Crowson.
The Dawgs’ remarkable performance under pressure clinched the game late as they now move to 11-3 on the season, tied for the division lead. They now look ahead to their next matchup tomorrow night, Monday, June 15, in Brooks when they take on the Brooks Bombers. Their next home game is Thursday, June 18, against the Lethbridge Bulls. First pitch for both of those games is set for 7:05 p.m.
