1970s Rio had insane aura. You had gritty disgusting brutalist commie architecture mixed with colonial areas all immersed in sun, drug running, and a based rightist dictatorship. A truly rare aesthetic, BAP speaks of this.
Watch City of God if you haven’t.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Bobby Weir. We send him off the way he sent so many of us on our way: with a farewell that isn’t an ending, but a blessing. A reward for a life worth livin'. https://t.co/2qdBbh80v1

“Breakdown 1975” is such a cool look back at a wild time in America. The country was in perpetual turmoil and it sparked such remarkable film and art. Strong rec. @netflix Merry Christmas Eve 🎁
Good article. Choice quote:

Bad writing advice 😄
Always start writing your story on chapter 2… because you’ll want to begin by telling people what the hell’s going on, but these days all books/TV episodes start with action and the consumer is clueless as to the context for ages.
I still do feel like I'm cheating with Podcasts, though. The physical act of picking up a book is a more decisive action to go into another world, then putting in earplugs.
