GI attending blew my mind today

GI: acidic food doesn’t make GERD worse. Acidic food is more basic than gastric acid, so all acidic foods act as a buffer. The problem is potassium content. High K+ foods activate H/K pumps -> increase endogenous gastric acid secretion 🤯🤯
