@MemeBankYT Looking closer, it may actually be a neighborhood. The blur and style is throwing me off but there is a trend in Florida where this style is trendy. I just have not seen it before with such little space between houses.
@MemeBankYT The photo looks like it's AI. A new neighborhood like this will typically have privacy fence in the back yard. But there are communities without them. But typically those communities have more space between houses and have shrubs/trees to mark boundaries.
@stankypanky9131@Casulawl There are different levels of scuba certifications. What she is doing is considered wreck diving, an advanced course. Likely she got certified back at home for open water but not wreck diving, but then went to a foreign scuba padi that did not check her credentials.
@BeawBeawGaming@QuarterJade I may be missing context, but there was a reddit post about how otv is dead, the older members are too old and have no energy, and that QuarterJade is trying to keep things all together. QJ hit back on that sentiment in a live stream saying all the members deserve more credit.
@WeatherGamer21@eduardo_popper@flightradar24 In the recording you can hear FedEx alerting SW to abort followed 2 seconds later that they are going around. Sounded like FedEx knew that sw did not have the time to get out of the way and was looking for them. Airplanes don't flare until they are a few feet above the runway.
@HeWent_2Jared I don't understand state economics, but reading about that 188 number, it's not a budget surplus. Its only part of the $342 billion expected revenue for the 2024-2025 period? Let's spend it on weathering the grid, not the roads. You can survive a few days of the year at home.
@jaketstevens1@_BarbarianBabe Exactly, just stay home. It's 2 days of cold then back to regularly scheduled weather. I don't see any reason to spend millions of dollars per city to make roads drivable an extra 2 days per year on average.
@undefeatedb_ Around my area we got zero snow. It was all freezing rain. Fortunately the roads are pretty decent if you don't have to go over one of the overpasses that are located every few miles. I don't want my property tax to go up to make roads drivable an extra 2 days of the year.
@elizandro73_ You may be underestimating the cost of snow plows and salt trucks. At least it seems around my area that they invested enough to get salt treatment on critical roads. I don't want my property taxes going up so people can get two work an extra 2 days of the year.
@HeWent_2Jared I would rather have everyone stay home for the 2 days of the year when issues like this happens, than to see my property taxes go up. A lot of people on here underestimating how much money norther states spend on winter roads.
@dontplaymz33 Plow trucks cost a lot of money. You need a lot of them depending on size of the city. They need to be maintained and pay for gas. The people driving them need to get paid. All that for money spent for 5-15 days of the year where they might be able to do something. Not worth it.
@scott_soulia@JigarShahDC@cityatlas How much energy storage can be built using pumped hydro in an open pit coal mine? Where does the water pump from and to? I feel like you run into the same issue with this as all pumped hydro: that it's very dependent on local terrain.
@cobychase@edhirs@ERCOT_ISO The way I understand it is that this is the average price of electricity being sold by generators. Its what your electric company pays per megawatt of electricity consumed. As a consumer, you may see this come back to you in the form of larger bill either next month or over time
@Blakertee @nothingtoosee0 Former upstate New Yorker here. In the 15 years I was in NY I don't recall ever hearing or seeing anyone ever drip a faucet. First time was when I moved to Texas, and still find it strange. Only explanation I got is maybe we turned off outdoor faucets from the basement?
@IwasGodsbratty1 @USGS_Quakes No need to blame climate change. Texas has gone from 20 or fewer earthquakes per year before 2009 to nearly 2000 in 2021. What correlates to this increase? Oil well waste water being injected deep underground. So you are correct, it's not because we are burning fosile fuels.
@MalwareTechBlog Or maybe they are celebrating. I literally got to this post because of the Nvidia trend. There are so many posts about how AMD just ripped Nvidia apart. This is not the type of marketing that Nvidia wants directed at their customers or their brand name.
@Anansi05885103 Not sure I get this point. I can read the text on both of these photos, without opening the twitter preview on my Pixel 4a. If I open them full screen and rotate I'm not even squinting at arms length. If you told me one is 4k and the other is 1080 I would have believed you.
