It is what it is.
Until it isn’t.
THEN it isn’t.
If you try to ignore the ugly and skip to the “good part”, you will only deprive yourself of the life experience that would have gotten you to the good part naturally and permanently.
“The truth does not change to accommodate our ability to stomach it”
“That which you want most will be found where you least want to look”
The truths that will infuse you with life are the ones you’re scared to death to face.
“I won’t do it because it is too difficult”
Completely backwards.
Challenges are only difficult because you have not dared enough.
If you dare constantly, life becomes easier.
The effort to pull away from distractions will always be at a minimum the moment prior to engagement.
Make life less painful by saying no the moment the thought arises.
The problems you’re avoiding become solvable once your threshold for discomfort reaches a certain level.
Unfortunately, exceeding that same threshold is the only point where most are motivated enough to change.
Don’t wait to solve problems.
The hardest thing you’ve ever done is the hardest thing you’ve ever done.
Unintuitive, but the teenager who white-knuckles a whole day without technology may be a greater feat than the athlete who completes an ultramarathon.
The path from conformity to authenticity will necessarily require the sacrifice of valued assets without a clear means of recuperation.
This is a prerequisite condition for forging character.
Just as a sufficiently hot furnace is necessary to forge steel.
The universe will sometimes throw insane multipliers at you: People and opportunities that accelerate you further than you imagined.
But anything multiplied by zero is zero.
You must prepare for the multiplier to hit.
