@BeschlossDC I was on Cape Canaveral that day as a 5 year old. I remember lots of people on the beach watching the lift off and then a collective gasp from the crowd. My grandfather ushered me to his Suburban and we sat in silence as people were trying to make sense of what they witnessed.
