Excited to share that the Sherwood Park CA for the Progressive Tory Party of Alberta is now live. Grateful to be working with thoughtful Albertans focused on practical, responsible leadership and real solutions. @progressivetory
@mroranges197584@PeterGuthrie99 If the argument is that Alberta is underrepresented, what's the proposed fix? More MPs for Alberta? Fewer MPs for smaller provinces? Representation strictly by population? I'm curious how you think that would work in practice.
@PeterGuthrie99 Wow. The tantrums of my fellow Albertan's is disgusting. Alberta is not going anywhere. The clear majority of us are Canadians. Why not put your energy into pushing for true, viable solutions. Or is it just easier to come on here and cry? We need a sensible gov. Not the UCP.
Alberta Needs Stability - Not Political Gamesmanship
After years of fueling separatist rhetoric, weakening institutions, lowering referendum thresholds, and pushing constitutional conflict, the UCP suddenly wants Albertans to believe they are federalists.
It’s simply not credible.
You cannot spend years feeding division and then distance yourself from it once the political winds shift.
Albertans are frustrated and many of those frustrations are legitimate. But frustration with Ottawa is not the same thing as putting national unity, investment confidence, and Alberta’s stability at risk.
This government has spent years trying to speak to federalists and separatists at the same time.
And now the contradictions are catching up with them.
Alberta can be strong without being isolated.
We can stand up for Alberta while still respecting institutions, the rule of law, and the long-term stability this province depends on.
That’s the conversation we should actually be having.
Take a listen.

@PfParks This is just so infuriating. I am not in the medical field, I believe there can be space for private care, but I can also see how absolutely irresponsible this is. It is clear as day these decisions are being made to benefit private facilities. Not improve care.
@TheBreakdownAB Its not completion if a hospital does a surgery for $3000, and a private clinic does it for $6000. The thought is nice, but paying private clinics 30%-50% more is absurd.
@andrew_leach And let’s not forget that it was MLA @nateglubish who introduced the motion that set this referendum process in motion. He chose to amplify a separatist movement instead of representing the broader majority of his constituents
The UCP's Bill 11 is designed by @ABDanielleSmith and her buddies in the private insurance industry to get their paws on our health care system to make a buck. It doesn't mean better or faster or cheaper care for those in the public system. #Cdnpoli
Has sovereignty talk already impacted Alberta businesses?
Anthony Nelson says Alberta has been great for his water filtration company, but adds his investors are raising questions about the future here, prompting him to look at relocating to BC or Ontario.

Today, May 14, humanitarian workers in Kherson, Ukraine came under attack.
World Central Kitchen (WCK) and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) vehicles were hit in separate drone attacks.
This morning in Ukraine, Russian forces attacked a WCK vehicle. A drone struck an armored vehicle operated by our restaurant partner California while delivering hot meals in Kherson. The attack impacted the rear section of the vehicle while it was in motion. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle sustained significant damage.
Earlier in the day, an OCHA vehicle was also targeted with drones in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson while it was delivering humanitarian aid. While all OCHA staff were safely evacuated, a local resident was killed.
The OCHA convoy was helping deliver meals and shelf stable items to a humanitarian center in Ostriv—one of the few remaining channels for food assistance to reach residents in the area.
“Today's attacks on humanitarian workers are war crimes. The world cannot accept this as normal. Too many aid workers have died like this around the world,” said WCK Founder @chefjoseandres. “Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council—but it attacks UN and WCK vehicles in Kherson, Ukraine. While the aid workers survived unharmed, one resident died. This war needs to end now. The suffering needs to end now. We are an American-based NGO.”
WCK remains committed to finding safe ways to deliver food assistance to the people of Kherson and communities across Ukraine. We will not stop. The need has not stopped, and neither will we. #ChefsForUkraine
@MelodyMacmillan@bryttan7777@sunlorrie I guessed will have to agree, to disagree 😉 I appreciate your point, but I would rather push for real Senate reform, which is doable and if done properly, can help alleviate the disparities in the house due to population.
The Brexit/Alberta separatism analogy isn't about comparing a state leaving an economic union to a province leaving a nation. Alberta separatism, if successful, would have a vastly more significant impact on its people than Brexit.
The analogy is pointing out how political movements that initially demonstrate limited support can take on a life of their own, ultimately leading to outcomes that those who voted in favour didn't actually intend. Especially when fed by arguments that are divisive, opportunistic, emotional, nationalistic, and misleading.
That's the prospect being raised here; that a lot of Albertans who vote for "sticking it to Ottawa" or "generating leverage" are going to wind up with a basket of negative political and economic consequences that they didn't initially think possible.
Ok, Ottawa is listening. How we act now will significantly impact the outcome.
Now is the time to be reasonable, focused, and clear about the changes Alberta actually needs. This is the moment to push for real reform, not deeper division. #abpoli
You think Alberta -- a province of 5 million people with significant oil reserves -- has more resources than
...the UK.
A country of almost 70 million and a GDP of, like, 3.7 Trillion in USD, give or take.
@bryttan7777@Conservati84559@sunlorrie I think maybe you don't understand how our government works. If you want US style government sure, but in Canada, we vote for our MP, not the PM. Not going to keep arguing about how the system works. Your vote matters.
