@dufus66@brenolmvieira@ivantuita Whatever. I forgot that one as I've not listened to them in a while. Listen to whatever right now and tell me that is not a fantastic instrumental and fantastic song. https://t.co/RmpgHhqBKD
@dufus66@laridiniz Slide Away. Supersonic. Songbird. Acquiesce. Don't look back in anger. Wonder wall. There's so many classics! Their sound is unique. One of England's finest bands. But I understand some people have different tastes. What type of music do you like just out of curiosity?
@DarkSoulz449AD All living men trace their Y chromosome back to one ancient ancestor in Africa ("Y-chromosomal Adam"), yet we're still English, Chinese, Arab or Nigerian because of our recent ancestry, culture and nationalityโnot where one ancestor lived 200,000+ years ago.
@kronoschak@Ogedei2@CarlosS_andoval@somosciclon Based off these posts of yours, I'm not sure if you understand the culture in England. That's okay though ๐. Maybe Argentinian football culture that you are describing here is where England football culture was 20 years ago. Maybe.
@voice_stolen@DarkSoulz449AD@Harlequin_Sanch But he's English in his heart. That's how Rice feels because of where he was raised. Everybody's ancestors can be traced to different lands if you go back far enough. I'd imagine Bellingham would probably feel out of place in a Jamaica squad. Because he's English. Just like Rice.
@DarkSoulz449AD@Harlequin_Sanch What about Declan Rice? Both his paternal and maternal grandparents are Irish i believe. But he's born and raised here and identifies himself as English. So what nationality do you believe these players should be?
@j250303@somosciclon Every major empire shed blood. The question is what each left behind. England's global contributions are undeniable.
Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, the Ottomans and many others all built empires through conquest. England wasn't unique in that respect.
@kronoschak@FedericoJa91139@somosciclon Britain ended the transatlantic slave trade in 1807, abolished slavery across most of the Empire in 1833, then spent decades using the Royal Navy to suppress the slave trade worldwide, freeing thousands of enslaved people. No country has a spotless past.
@dglcork@JamesMelville But what about if you only spoke Chinese Mandarin because of this upbringing. And all your personality and accent was that of a Chinese person. You would still feel English is your nationality?
