Presenting this at an IMSH "Hot Topics" Educator meeting was fun as well. I presented 8 different simple ways to weave resilience into simulation training.
The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) Value-based Simulation (VBS) Affinity Group (AG) had 2 successful presentations at the 2026 International Medical Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) conference in San Antonio. It's great connecting with simulationists around the world.
Your recent frustrating experiences probably contain Novelty, Ambiguity and Uncontrollability. Decrease stress by aiming to decrease ambiguity and find out what you can control. Can't do much about novelty... Here are possible tips to decrease ambiguity: https://t.co/vAzkH1KyP6
Standardizing evidence-based medicine helps keep patients safe if healthcare team members speak up. Team members won't speak up without psychological safety. Building relationships builds psychological safety. Thus, building relationships keeps patients safe. It's that simple.
Young Amy definitely would have benefited from this bit of #failure wisdom...🧠🤓
If you could go back in time and give 'college you' one piece of advice, what would it be?
@IMSH2024 today, hearing stories and curating our own. Come to the Value-based Simulation Affinity Group tomorrow morning at 7 AM, room 5A @ the Convention Center.
What does value-based simulation look like? It is going to take some work to define, but will help your program have measurable and sustainable success. See this article by Cook et al:

Bow down in gratitude to Mayur Shelke who saved the life of a 6 year old child of a visually impaired mother, risking his own life .
The railways announced a cash prize for Mayur, and he donated half of it for the child’s education. Proud of Mayur’s values🙏🏼https://t.co/Mc9ct5Z63a
IMSH improvements! I like the word improvement much more than the word change (change is not always good). I have learned and made intentions to improve. Thanks #IMSH2023
