Had to do some research after discovering the “Silver Pages” on SGS this morning! 1985 version includes some golf advice from Ray! Have to imagine this was what propelled him to a win in ‘86.

@emm0sh I agree. However, I definitely think there is potential for larger future use for code CAD than currently, perhaps as an initial/intermediate design step for complex shapes like OMLs. But barring some breakthrough, not as an end to end tool. Just not the right UX for CAD either.
Text-to-CAD has been achieved internally! 🚨
(I’m not trying to build text to CAD, just accidentally got here 💀)
Implicit aircraft modeling is cool! More to come

Now building:
Supermaneuverable, fixed wing drones. Vision & Lidar based full onboard autonomy. Low altitude precision flying at 70mph through cluttered terrain. Dynamic vision based trajectory planning and optimization.
@Xaraphim This is awesome! Can’t wait to follow along. One of those projects I’ve been wanting to try myself for a while now, maybe by the time finally I get to it you’ll have gotten some open source path finding done 🤠
Alternatively, multi-domain unmanned systems. A drone that can fly and swim. I’ve seen this done with quadcopter style vehicles, I wonder what other options are out there
@heatloss1986 Everyone has their niche specialties and preferences, but just because they’re different from yours doesn’t make them any less valuable. A well rounded education will make you SUCH a better engineer for so many reasons
@heatloss1986 Also yeah maybe the liberal arts students can’t design a system to catch the starship booster. But the engineers probably don’t have the creativity to create a work of art or to write the next great American novel!
