@BrendanDawe @sushil_js I think it's fair to call it a grift in that what has been promised is far in excess of what the technology is actually capable of (or will ever be capable of).

Unlike NFTs and Crypto, AI does have use cases, but those uses are limited compared to money that has been sunk in.

@capybaroness Within the metaphor of the film, transitioning would expose Owen to a whole new set of dangers. But it makes the argument that even those dangers are better than allowing yourself to slowly disappear and die.

@capybaroness I think the text of the film supports Maddy's claims, but is also explicit that returning to the Pink Opaque won't solve all of Owen's problems. It's a world where they're constantly hunted by monsters! But at least in that world they can be who they really are.
