@sarareadauthor And so the quote is less about (perhaps, not even about) writing, so much as it's about lifestyle, since writing is necessarily a fixed/sedentary activity. That's my take, anyway.
@sarareadauthor I think the context helps here. I think he's saying that until 40 or so, you can get away with sitting on your butt (in front of a computer or notebook) but after that, physical activity becomes even more important- we can't get away with inactivity like our younger bodies could
