@SouthwestAir On the phone for over 2 hours last night (this was my second call after first one dropped after over 30 min) trying to apply LUV vouchers rec’vd when our family was stranded during 2022 holiday travel. This is not a way to rebuild confidence.
Fantastic article by my friend/colleague @jwmalatras@UnionCollege ! "Could it be that teaching students.. ..to experience discomfort gracefully, to exercise flexible thinking in the face of challenge—might be the way to move past pandemic learning?" 🤩

I have to admit it: I love my soft pants. But I wonder if we all, educators and students alike, might benefit from learning to tolerate a little more discomfort. I wrote about the Soft-Pants Effect 👇 @insidehighered https://t.co/qtZFVE85VG… #softpantseffect#HigherEducation
Took a break from conferencing @ABCTNOW for outing with my family and was consumed by a rushing, pushing crowd. Took shelter in a store with lots of panicked families for 2+ hours. Glad to have my CBT skills to help some folks manage until police escort out. #cbtworks
@AnneJoyful Anna, your voice is such an important one and resonates with so many. There is so much work to do on a systemic level to address inequity. On an individual level, academia (and the world) is lucky to have you.
COVID continues to illustrate health disparities in communities of color. Latest federal data found drug deaths in 2020 was more pronounced in the Black/African American community--growing by more than 50% from 2019 to 2020.

#holidayseason reminder:
Many kids need structure to regulate their days. Even on vacation.
Anchor kids with mealtimes, bedtimes, or specific activities.

@DnMahar Thank you for your kind words and for the grace you have shown to see all the good through this fog. I’m grateful to know there are people like you choosing to bring that kind of light into our world.
"Dr. Jim Malatras has been an outstanding leader of SUNY through one of the most trying times in our history and has the support of the SUNY Board of Trustees.”
SUNY board issues lengthy statement in support of Chancellor Jim Malatras amid criticism over comments made in recently released records in Cuomo scandals.
PEF also issued a statement of support
As a @SUNY employee I can’t express enough how much the leadership of @jimmalatras and his team have had such a positive impact on SUNY statewide He demonstrates the example of leadership to the highest quality. Easily the best SUNY Chancellor we have had and likely will ever see
“We have challenging days ahead and believe Jim Malatras, as Chancellor of the State University of New York, remains the right leader to help us meet that challenge.”-SUNY Board of Trustees
