@morepellent@Hamish_Coventry@RealBigToshi Wrong on every level. If you can’t see that a 0-0 game can be entertaining then that’s an issue. If you don’t understand the intricacies of the game then that’s your problem, I find American football insanely dull and the fact they change the entire team between plays ridiculous.
@morepellent@Hamish_Coventry@RealBigToshi Probably highlights your complete lack of patience as a nation. Everything is now now now. That being said you have very little play in 3hrs of American football game.
@jayanthkumarak At what point do we just say there are irreconcilable differences and just agree to ignore each other’s opinions. Americans prefer American sports and most of the world prefer the sport that’s more popular in most of the world, Indians prefer crickets etc shock.
@AlanBrown76ix5@SamENole@HowTheProsDo@bordersroad Yeah then don’t bother changing the rule just say to VAR you can’t draw lines so it’s going to have to be clear and obvious for an on-pitch review. Their argument is offside is offside.
@_dave1893@tiny_tim7 A rugby approach I think would be better. Not sure I like team reviews. Just stop them drawing lines, in rugby offside is done by eye. At the same time defences do work super hard to set a good line so we shouldn’t always bemoan people being offside and undermine their work.
@RizH0803 Probably take Germany out of that. If you look past the first game they’ve been bad. England don’t look great, Brazil not great, Spain ok, France good, Argentina good, Portugal not good
@lukewallis82 Normally when we get knocked out. A little bit of delusion every few years is a bit of run and the “rival” fans love watching us lose so win win for everyone.
@MattWi77iams The problem is, we allow 5cm extra, someone goes 5.1cm and everyone starts crying again. Where does it end? Also the defence put a massive amount of work and skill in holding an offside line, why are we denigrating their effort here, I get we all like goals but celebrate defence.
@SamENole@HowTheProsDo@bordersroad You get the same problem at the end of the day though don’t you. Someone is still going to be offside by the tightest of margins whatever the exact line you take. Attackers and defenders are honed to use this key part of the game to win.
@SamENole It can be annoying but the offside rule is a massive part of defending and you’re undermining the skill from defenders to hold that line. Today because people wanted Portugal to lose they hate it, tomorrow when it benefits USA they will love it.
@malikshareef Tight margins are frustrating but that’s sport. Take long jump, 1mm long and your jump is excluded. Offside is needed - it was awful without it. Imagine you are just allowed to have players camped the whole game in the end zone in American Football- it changes the game.
@BetsyRoss1980@The_FJC Yeah all my money comes directly from us tax payers and I rely on Americans for everything and would be too scared to leave my house without US troops in Europe. Or I work for a living, pay taxes and spend my money on what I want in a country that has less imperialist ambitions.
@BlackLabelAdvsr This is only because of the teams involved. If this was the USA team defending and this stopped them going out you’d be celebrating the check. Offside is offside by whatever margin. You make it 5cm extra then someone goes 6cm and starts crying and it never ends.
