Just finished #TipToe@Channel4
I've never watched a more harrowing 15 minutes of television in my life. I felt physically sick; I am shaking with anger, and full of tears (even writing this post is a struggle) 💔
Is this our future? I pray not....
@TPEassist my 1324 from LP Lime Street has been cancelled. I'm travelling to York on an Advanced Single. This was the only direct service. My next option is TPE to Selby then @LNER to York (though my connection train will be outside of 2hr window, is my ticket valid?
@MediumDebyOuld@benonwine It's also no different from the regimental poppy-pins, attributed to the various regiments of the British Army, the branches of the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force. Those pins, just like the LGBTQ+ one, pay homage to those particular communities within our Armed Forces.
@MediumDebyOuld@benonwine Utter nonsense; the LGBTQ+ community is not getting "yet another" bit of special attention. This is no different, for example, from the RBL commissioned Sikh Poppy, commemorating the contribution of Sikh soldiers to our country - do you have an issue with that poppy-pin too?!
The #LGBTQ Poppy is a good thing, which commemorates an important part of the Armed Forces. Stop with the hate, stop spreading misinformation, and start remembering why we wear the poppy altogether!
@MediumDebyOuld@benonwine Your grandad, alongside my own, and my great-uncle, served alongside gay-soldiers (who served their country with pride, even when it criminalised their very existence). They were honoured to serve alongside one another and would rightly celebrate their contribution.
@benonwine LGBTQ+ people serve in the Armed Forces, with pride and without hessistation (even at a time when the country they so proudly served criminalised their very existence). Hundreds of LGBTQ+ people have fought for our freedoms and liberties - and this poppy-pin commemorates that.
@benonwine Hmmm! Do you have the same thoughts around the football-club poppy-pins, or the faith poppy-pins? The (officail) LGBTQ+ Poppy Pin, commissioned by the RBL, is to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the LGBTQ+ community within the Armed Forces - it's not political.
This week, in London:
Wednesday - meet my new team
Thursday - last meeting with my current team
Friday - departmental Pride event
Saturday - London Pride
Before all of that, though..... some much needed rest and recuperation!
A fantastic #BirthdayParade for HM The King; and the weather just about held off. I know all too well the impact of that rain on the long march back to the barracks.
Bravo Zulu @BritishArmy and all those on parade - a bloody marvellous display!

Huge thank you to Jason, from @cfcs_uk, who joined our @DWPgovuk South East All Colleague Call to highlight the amazing support available from the Chairty and to Launch the #MegaMilesChallenge
An informative session, and we'll recived by all.
#NationalWalkingMonth
I am participating in the @cfcs_uk#MegaMilesChallenge for #NationalWalkingMonth
Your support could be life changing, maybe even lifesaving. The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times.
