Justice needs to be done. 18 USC 248 provides for potential jail time, and fines; ADDITIONALLY it provides for separate Civil actions available for those church goers and pastors. So in addition to possible criminal charges filed by the government there could multiple civil lawsuits filed seeking damages. I wonder if pre-judgement garnishments and/or freezing of assets are also available?

We have been down this road before. A lower level Federal judge makes an incorrect decision that is overturned on appeal; AND 18 USC 248 provides not only for criminal charges, it ALSO provides a separate Civil actions available to each of the church goers and pastors. So we could see multiple civil actions against each person involved and appropriate compensation for each victim.

What’s the point in getting rid of the filibuster, because republicans can’t coalesce on current legislation. Republicans will lose this next year if they don’t:  focus on important core issues; and drop the tertiary issues, that are less important (or a lost cause) than keeping the majority in Congress & the Senate; and unite on issues. Far too many politicians will not budge on issues that are costing critical votes and are just not important core issues. Please stop the nonsense and get united.
