Muslims: Who was Allah before Muhammad?

Allah was already known in Arabia before Muhammad.

The Kaaba existed before Muhammad.

The Black Stone existed before Muhammad.

Pilgrimage to Mecca existed before Muhammad.

Circumambulation of the Kaaba existed before Muhammad.

So what changed?

Muhammad removed the idols, but he kept the sanctuary.

He kept the pilgrimage.

He kept the Black Stone.

He kept the circumambulation.

He kept the destination.

He kept the name Allah.

If Islam is the restoration of Abraham's religion, where are these practices in the Torah?

Where do Abraham, Moses, David, Isaiah, John the Baptist, or Jesus circle a shrine seven times?

Where do they kiss a sacred stone?

Where do they perform pilgrimage to Mecca?

Where do they venerate the Kaaba?

You won't find it.

What you do find is that the core location, the core rituals, and even the name Allah all predate Islam.

So the question remains:

Did Muhammad restore Abraham's religion?

Or did he take an existing Arabian pagan framework, remove the idols, and give the old practices a new theological explanation? 🤔🤔🤔
