Explicit instruction and building procedural and declarative knowledge are key to learning.

In PE, where class sizes are often large, breaking skills into manageable chunks and using frequent checks for understanding can still be powerful—even if it’s in quick bursts. Small tweaks, like clear modeling and immediate feedback, can make a big difference even in a busy gym setting!
