“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah” (Psalm 46:1-3)
Before the whips, before the thorns, before a single nail was driven, Jesus was already bleeding. Not from any wound inflicted by human hands, but from the sheer crushing weight of what He knew was coming. Luke, the only Gospel writer who was a physician, records the detail: "And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground."
For centuries, skeptics treated this as pious exaggeration. Sweat does not become blood. But medicine has since documented the condition. It is called hematidrosis, and though extremely rare, it is real. Under conditions of extreme, mortal stress, the small capillaries surrounding the sweat glands can rupture, and blood seeps out through the skin, mingling with sweat. It has been recorded in prisoners awaiting execution and in people facing certain death. The documented trigger is precisely what Luke describes: a human being confronting an anguish at the outer limit of what a mind and body can bear. The physician among the Gospel writers recorded a genuine medical phenomenon, in exactly the circumstance modern medicine says produces it. One further detail makes it worse: hematidrosis leaves the skin tender and hypersensitive. If Jesus experienced this, then every blow that followed, the fists, the rods, the scourge, the thorns, landed on skin already inflamed before His trial even began.
Now consider where this happened. Gethsemane sits at the foot of the Mount of Olives, across the Kidron Valley from Jerusalem. The name itself is the sermon: Gethsemane comes from the Aramaic for "oil press." It was an olive grove, a working place where olives were crushed under a great stone, pressed repeatedly until the oil ran out. On the night before His crucifixion, the Son of God walked into the place of crushing, and there He was pressed until blood came through His skin. Scripture does not waste geography. Isaiah had written seven centuries earlier: "He was crushed for our iniquities."
Look at what actually happens in the garden. Jesus takes Peter, James, and John deeper into the grove and tells them something He says nowhere else in the Gospels: "My soul is very sorrowful, even to death." The Greek is stark; He is describing a sorrow so total it is itself lethal, grief pressing against the boundary of survival. Then He goes a stone's throw farther, falls on His face, and prays the prayer that has echoed through every Christian's darkest night since: "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Yet not my will, but yours, be done."
The cup is the key to the whole scene. In the prophets, the cup is a fixed image: the cup of God's wrath against sin, the cup the nations must drink down to the dregs. Jesus is not recoiling from Roman torture alone. Brave men and women have faced torture calmly, and thousands were crucified in that era. What no other human being has ever faced is what was in that cup: the full, concentrated judgment of God against the sin of the world, about to be poured out on the only innocent man who ever lived. He saw it clearly that night, and His body began to bleed under the sight of it.
And here is the detail that should stop you: He asked for the cup to pass, and it did not. The Father, who loved Him perfectly, said no. Because the only way to save you was for that cup not to pass. Jesus received the no, rose from the ground, and walked toward the torches coming through the trees. Three times He prayed; three times He surrendered. Meanwhile, a stone's throw away, the three disciples He had asked to watch with Him slept. He fought the greatest battle in the history of the world alone, while His closest friends could not stay awake one hour.
There is one more moment in the garden that is easy to read past. When the armed crowd arrives and Jesus identifies Himself, "I am he," John records that the entire detachment drew back and fell to the ground. Soldiers with weapons, flattened by three words. It is a flash of the truth beneath the whole scene: no one was taking His life from Him. He said so Himself: "No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord." The one who could have called twelve legions of angels let Himself be bound.
To the world, Gethsemane looks like weakness, a man begging to escape, trembling, sweating, falling on His face. But this is the opposite of weakness. Courage is not the absence of dread; it is seeing the full horror of what is coming, feeling it so completely that your body bleeds, and choosing to walk into it anyway, for the sake of people who were, at that very moment, asleep on you. That is what love does. He saw the cup. He saw you. He drank it.
Whatever garden you are in tonight, whatever cup you are begging God to take away, know this: you pray to a Savior who has knelt where you kneel, who knows what it is to receive the Father's no, and who proved forever that surrender to God's will is not defeat. It is victory dressed in blood and olive shade.
"Not my will, but yours, be done." Six words that saved the world.
Jesus is the Man of Sorrows, crushed so that you could go free. Thank You, Jesus.
Some Muslim “scholar” in a robe just declared that dogs are filthy enemies of the prophet, that angels refuse to enter your house if you own one, and that keeping a pet dog is haram and will get you punished by Allah.
Cool story, bro.
My dogs sleep on my bed, protect my house, make my kids laugh, and have more loyalty in one paw than your entire ideology has in its entire history.
I’ll take muddy paws, wet-nose greetings, and unconditional love over your desert superstitions any day of the week.
Dogs are family.
Your take is trash!
This is the real reason the Left is uniting with Islam, and how it’s going to end
“I keep wondering why the left is so obsessed with defending an ideology that would be the first to execute them. Democrats have spent decades fighting for things like women's rights, and yet they defend countries where women are banned from school, where honor killings happen, and where wives have no protection, or no legal protection from abuse.
They wave pride flags at every parade, and yet they defend countries where homosexuality is punishable by death. So what then exactly does the progressive left and these Islamists have in common?
Because on the surface, they agree on literally nothing, except for one thing: They share the same enemy, and that enemy is the West
And the thing is, neither of them can build what they want while the West still stands. So they're kind of working together to tear it down first, and figure the rest out later.
The Marxist thinks he's using the Islamists to do the heavy lifting. The useful idiots vote them in, platform them, defend them, and launder every atrocity as resistance. And what awaits them when the job is done is something history has already shown us.
Iran, 1977, the Marxists and Islamists united to overthrow the Shah. The moment they won, the Islamists executed every single leftist who helped bring them to power: jailed, tortured, or gone. The left handed them the revolution and got a bullet for it”
“But they can't do that here because nobody's starving. The thing about socialist revolutions is they need desperation, whether it's famine or disease, and that's not America, so they need a different strategy.
Because here's what the left has been doing in the meantime. They have become a laundering service, and what I mean by that is the West won't naturally accept an ideology that is openly intolerant. We're a tolerant society, which is our weakness and our strength.
So every time there's a terrorist attack, it becomes an act of resistance. Every massacre becomes a natural reaction to imperialism or colonialism or whatever. They don't defend the ideology directly, they just make the atrocity make sense to you over and over until your moral framework shifts without you noticing.
KGB defector, Yuri Bezmenov, called this demoralization. You don't need to win a revolution if you can get people to abandon their own values first.
It starts with murdering civilians is wrong. Then it becomes, were those civilians really innocent given the history of colonialism? You don't need an Islamic conquest by force when you can walk it in through the front door of compassion….
And the left will be the last to realize what they helped build right up until they're the first against the wall.”
There is literally no other way this ends except exactly how this describes. It’s the same story that’s played out again and again and again
And the crazy thing is, the Islamists don’t even hide this is what they’re doing, they openly say they’re using the Left until enough of them get into power
We have to stop it because if we let liberals bring America down and face an Islamic Revolution, they bring us down with them
Wygodne dzieciństwo to najdroższy prezent, jaki możesz dać dziecku. Zapłaci za niego w dorosłym życiu...
Dlatego ja w ten weekend dałem synom prezent odwrotny.
Today is the Lord’s day, and He will receive more into His Kingdom.
Father God, help this father find the words to express how God has changed his family over the last 5mo. Continue to guide him as he pushes through his social anxieties. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow, my son, my daughter, and my step father are all being baptized.
I am the happiest man on Earth.
But......
The Pastor asked me to testify to the congregation before hand.
He doesn't know about my Aspergers and extreme social anxiety.
I'm going to be a babbling idiot up there. I can't barely speak a sentence about god that I don't get emotional.
I am absolutely terrified, but I told him I would. I owe God that testimony.
But I am terrified.
Before you go to bed tonight,
remember this…
Nothing drains you more than
your own mind, stop stressing
over what you can’t control.
You did enough today, you are enough
today, let your self rest in that truth.
You’re going to be OK, I promise
I’m asking for prayers for our 32-yr-old pregnant daughter who suffered a stroke from clots in the brain a week ago. It has been a very difficult week of ups and downs, but mostly downs.
Last night her brain was swelling again, clots were reforming and getting bigger and bleeding was increasing, so they took her in for a second surgery to remove the clots, which was a successful surgery. But then her brain started swelling too much overnight so they made the decision to remove the left half of her skull to give her brain room to expand. Now it’s a waiting game.
Our Kaylie has a 2 1/2 yr old daughter at home who loves her mommy very much. Plus, I can’t imagine life without my eldest daughter, whom I love more than words can express. We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in asking our Heavenly Father for the brain swelling to go down, for the clots and bleeding to stop and for Kaylie to wake up and recover fully.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Something must be done about the very obvious and intentional Islamic takeover of America
“There is an Islamic invasion happening in America right now, whether you see it or not. The mayor of New York City is a Muslim. The mayor of Dearborn, Michigan is a Muslim. The mayor of St. Louis Park is a Muslim, and the mayor candidate of Minneapolis is a Muslim. Islam for the last 1,400 years have never coexisted with any people, any color, any tribe.
— I'm talking from experience. You see, I grew up in Egypt, and Egypt 1,400 years ago was a Christian country. We were 90% Christian 1,400 years ago until Islam came in our country. They conquered it, they burnt our churches, killed our men, raped the women, took the kids, and turned them Muslim. And now Egypt is 90% Muslim and 10% Christian.
So I'm coming to you from the future to warn you that America might end up this way if the men of America do not wake up.”
The Islamic takeover is well underway, and it’s worse than you realize
We already have roughly 25 Muslim mayors elected throughout America and even more horrifying, about 235 Muslim elected officials
In 2025 alone, 42 additional Muslims were elected in America.
4 Muslims are in Congress
@GuntherEagleman I’m a teacher. If I went against the curriculum, standards, policies and procedures to be an activist in the classroom, I’d be terminated.
