So many haters are flooding my page now.
Every day more lies,
More hate,
More propaganda.
russia is working overtime trying to
Silence Ukrainians and twist reality.
And honestly…
It’s exhausting.
Sometimes I feel mentally drained and want to give up.
But then I remember:
Ukraine is not the aggressor.
We are defending our home and our right to exist.
We can’t let them erase the truth.
We can’t stay silent.
Because if we don’t speak about this war -
Who will?
Hellish night in Kyiv. Didn’t know if I’d wake up.
When there’s nothing on the battlefield, Russia wages war on market stalls and apartment blocks, murdering people in their sleep.
Trump is allowing 500k more Chinese students to enter America, and he's allowing the Chinese government to buy more American farm land while 46% of American farms are on the brink of foreclosure. Did you vote for this, MAGA? You did.
No matter how much anyone hypes up the general impression of my people's bravery, here in Ukraine, everyone has their limit. Elderly women… are forced to simply hide under the table in their own homes after yet another heavy russian shelling. Yes… this is a simple village with private houses, and each of you can see the standard of living of these people for yourself. The strong must protect the weak, and in Ukraine, this is taught from childhood. But not everyone in this world possesses human qualities, which is why we live the way the situation looks today. All that is left, at least in this case with the elderly women, is to simply hide under the table, because they don't have a bunker like the one putin loves to sit in - that very spineless organism because of whom all of this is happening in my country.
NEW: Pope Leo XIV is the son of a Black Creole woman from Chicago’s South Side who earned a master's at thirty-seven, sang contralto in her parish choir, and ran the library at the Catholic high school where her son would later teach.
On Mother’s Day, the woman who made an American pope. https://t.co/QCk7zmxop7
Three months later, this is my last @washingtonpost story — delayed because nearly everyone involved in it was laid off. I am very grateful to newsroom friends who made sure it published anyway, and to brave Roman Mongold and his family for their time.

A stunning piece on how Russia used 1688 days of occupation to turn a 12-year-old Ukrainian patriotic girl into a hardcore 17-year-old putinist.
