Italian students accused of harassing Thai woman after noise complaint on BTS train

A group of Italian students allegedly harassed a Thai woman after she asked them to lower their voices on a Bangkok BTS train, with the incident going viral on social media.

The woman said the incident happened at around 7 pm on July 23 on the BTS Silom Line near Sala Daeng station. She said the group was shouting loudly, and after she asked them to be quieter, one student allegedly replied, "Sorry for bringing money into your country." She also alleged an adult believed to be a teacher or chaperone defended the students and swore at her after she began filming.

She said several students continued shouting insults as they got off at the next station, mocked Thailand and showed her the middle finger. Another group of female students later apologized for the behaviour, she said.

The identities of the students have not been confirmed, and there has been no public statement from BTS, police or the Italian Embassy. BTS rules prohibit excessive noise and behaviour that disturbs other passengers.

If there is any doubt, Giacomo never supported RDTS/110. He unambiguously warned Luke and Mechanic from the start when RDTS was only an idea, in a friendly and firm manner, that he couldn’t follow them down that path. Not to bash on anyone but for the truth to be clear.

For anyone interested about the truth: Adam Back is absolutely, overtly and veritably lying about me *ever* supporting BIP110, or even being "a fence sitter" about it.

I have always strongly, clearly and unequivocally opposed any similar fork proposal since the very earliest suggestions.

I have always been, and remain, consistently opposed to:
- using consensus rules to tackle specific types of onchain spam,
- defensively addressing any kind of "illegal data" moral panic in any possible way (mempool policies included),
- enforcing any controversial consensus change (including the ones I agree with, unlike this one) without clear full-ecosystem agreement.

It's a bit unfortunate that a very influential voice in the industry is lying about me, since I have a smaller reach to debunk him. Maybe some of you can help me by spreading the correction. Thanks.

The miners works for a valuable block reward. A raspie is able to recieve unlimited amount of bitcoin.

Fees as % of total block reward is 0.52%. You aren't securing shit. Mlthe super majority of the reward comes from the subisdy. And the only way the subsidy has value is when UTXOs are in demand.

I've been thinking about how I would respond to this as I was mowing my lawn, because yes, I'm that kind of guy who doesn't have a stake in a billion dollar company and who doesn't get invited to private islands, the kind of guy who mows his own lawn and just does what he thinks is right in the world. You are as guilty of what I'm describing as anyone, dismissing @hodlonaut's articles as pulp and tabloid material instead of contending with the very real issues that they raise. I began and lead a FOSS project that has continued to build a useful savings tool for bitcoiners, including bitcoiners in some of the most difficult and hardest to reach parts of the world, and I've tried to steer the project to build in a way we think is in the true spirit of bitcoin. And I can confirm that portions of the grant space are captured by corporate interests and treat certain projects like shit -- I have experienced this personally and repeatedly. SeedSigner invented SeedQR and popularized the stateless approach that gave Jade a second wind after it's PIN server approach didn't resonate with bitcoiners. After I pointed this out Blockstream cut us a $2k novelty check, and we continued to get shot down by most grant orgs, save the HRF. I looked up to you so fucking hard when you did that episode of Lets Talk Bitcoin in '14 or '15, talking about sidechains and network upgrades. You were the original cypherpunk who initially overlooked bitcoin but circled back to help advance the movement after seeing the value. The truth between core and knots is somewhere in the middle. Core has a ton of eyeballs and really smart people working on it, but blowing up the op_return from 80 bytes to whatever crazy number it is was a mistake and any rational person can see that. The reasonable thing to do would be to figure out how to walk that back instead of digging into the false dichotomy this whole thing has begun. But what do I know, I'm just a 80-IQ chump nym watching you and all of the other luminaries being primarily more worried about conference junkets and lining your own pockets.
