@DrBenLovell I’m Polish 🙋🏼♀️. Soplica — “flavored with almonds in caramel”. And the below description says: “Delightful and deep almond flavor, combined with melt-in-your-mouth golden caramel”.
Side note: I think Polish people should do all marketing from now on 🙈😂
So thankful to the residents in the TIMELESS pilot. I have been a proponent of competency-based time-variable training (CBTVT) for some time now: https://t.co/odmmNYMLjA
But the TIMELESS residents taught us a lot in this pilot: https://t.co/7nmy0qzgkH @AcadMedJournal#MedEd
🧵
We also saw that for some residents, time-variability introduced an extrinsic motivator – early promotion – that led to increased focus on performance (rather than growth) and pressure to obtain assessments for purposes of CCC review.
We did find that time-variability increased motivation for self-directed learning and feedback-seeking behaviors for many residents. It also increased resident engagement with our assessment system generally.
As you reflect on the end of the year, acknowledge your mistakes and shortcomings.
It’s ok.
The key is to learn and grow from them.
Give yourself grace.
No one is perfect.
The more you give —> The more you are expected to give
This pattern is learned behavior.
The solution is not to sacrifice yourself trying to meet rising expectations.
The solution is to set boundaries to preserve yourself.
We become so invested in our work that we forget to invest in what matters most:
Ourselves + our loved ones.
May this weekend be an opportunity to focus on what really matters.
A one-second pause can save you a lifetime of regret.
When you feel your emotions bubbling, remember to take a deep breath or walk away from the situation.
It is not worth saying or doing something that you will later regret.
@LJTafeMD Everything will ultimately come to an end.
This includes our lives.
I would rather experience a full range of emotions and experiences along the way.
This includes love.
You can’t be everything for everyone.
When you try to be everything for everyone, you end up overstretched and overwhelmed.
This puts you at risk of not being helpful for the people who matter most.
This includes you.
You are your harshest critic.
You are intimately aware of all your failures and shortcomings.
Yet, you take your strengths and achievements for granted.
Take your Inner Critic with a grain of salt.
A shorter work week benefits people and workplaces.
4-day pilot in dozens of companies for 6 months:
✔️Burnout, stress, anxiety drop
✔️Pace increases, revenue up 8.1% (37.6% over prior year)
✔️Satisfaction, balance, exercise, leisure, sleep improve
Nearly all plan to continue.
Commitment is scary.
If you fully commit to something and fail, you will feel the sting of failure.
But, at least you can look yourself in the mirror and know that you had the courage to go for it.
Not everyone can say that.
