POLAR RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS REQ.
Are you planning to complete a physical Polar expedition or scientific placement (Arctic or Antarctica) in the next 18 months. Would you be interested in supporting my research project examining resilience and thriving during your placement?
Pink is the new yellow! ⚠ Last week, our #OceanSystems expert Nathan travelled to Portugal for the REP(MUS) training event. Accompanied by our partner #SEABER and 4 YUCO micro-AUVs, the team showcased the AUV's capabilities in front of the customer and other #defence attendees🇵🇹
Unmanned systems are playing a growing role on the maritime domain.
Exercise #REPMUS22, led by 🇵🇹, brings a very important contribution for #Allies and #Partners to exercise together and build interoperability.
This year HMS Protector has been helping friends at @AntarcticHT preserve historic buildings in Antarctica.
To help current and future generations discover, understand, value and protect this amazing wilderness.

Naval officer Dave Pitt is possibly the only person with the family name to set foot on their namesake islands. 🚢❄🐧
He joined a shore party from @hmsprotector as the icebreaker surveyed the Pitt Islands during her latest stint around #Antarctica.

A Royal Navy officer from Dudley has become one of only a handful of people to explore a collection of remote Antarctic islands

HMS Protector, the @RoyalNavy's Ice Patrol Ship, arrived in the #FalklandIslands today where she'll spend the next few weeks before setting sail again for Antarctica.
It's the first time she's been in the Falkland Islands since early 2019.

Sailors on @hmsprotector have been trained in how to operate drones. It comes as the tech will be used on future deployments to #Antarctica - from helping guide the polar research ship safely through ice to providing ‘overwatch’ for teams going ashore

And that's @FOST completed! Goodbye Plymouth- we'll see you later in the year! We're off to conduct ice trials prior to our deployment to #Antarctica later this year! In the meantime have a look at this video of our training.

Exciting news! We received our new Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems on Thursday from @evolve_dynamics. These are an awesome capability that will allow us to scout out leads in the ice! Our flight team can't wait to use them in anger!

Don’t forget the Poppy Appeal! November won’t be the same without the Poppy Appeal volunteers collecting for the Royal British Legion this year. I will be running 11km on 11 Nov to support this great cause helping our Armed Forces both serving & retired. https://t.co/3DlikY6N10
