Mid to late April in Sasky never disappoints. 5 years running dragging cold calves home. Thankfully kept bulls home longer last year and only heifers and second calves going
Old Stock Giveaway Demo Friday! To enter in the Athletes Haven Old Stock Giveaway just retweet this. Today we take a tour around local celebrity @kenny_moo new flat deck service truck. Check it out!
Quick peek at the girls we’re sending to Maple creek on Apr 6. Hopefully I can get the trucks in the yard. Roughly 90 going that I wouldn’t hesitate to put a bull with I just don’t think I’ll have enough grass.
Fortunately this picture was taken before had to yell at her for being in the wrong spot. Heifers sorted and only that one time words were exchanged. Every time we counted we got the same number and she didn’t leave the pen swearing at me. Huge W when sorting with the wife
Proud of my two boys tonight. Tate was extremely solid in the win to capture the provincial title and Ryder was great on the back end. Two provincial titles in a row for little bro. Great feeling being on the bench watching them and the whole team play like we did
@CBugyik I had one in the tractor but when I saw where they were buried I didn’t have enough beer so just pulled them out and went back to my comfy chair and cold beer
Teenagers. 15 and two of his buddies decided to take the sxs for a rip. Got stuck once and got out. Continued pass the yard where I would have grabbed a shovel but in their infinite wisdom they didn’t resulting in the phone call to have dad come rescue them. #Dumbasses
Got some really nice moisture finally. First since end of July. Made it interesting trying to get the steers loaded out but I’ll take it. Getting kicked in the nuts while sorting then in the hand while loading I could have done without
So apparently the girls remember the grain tank from last winter. Too bad ladies you get hay and the pellets are for the calves and yes that’s what all our pasture looks like that’s why we’re already feeding
That’s pretty much it for hay22. Few slews and some straw left to do but main feed is put up. Be pushing to get through winter but at least we shouldn’t have to send any away
So the neighbours bull had fun the day he got out. One missing from photo 5 black calves total. Pretty efficient little fence crawling bastard. Four heifers and one bull so maybe the boys will have to start a black herd
Sorry boys you can look at those replacements across the road all you want but at this pace your off season is lasting another week or maybe two. Start of May calving instead of April looking better every year
@sticklefarm Here she is. Set of skis I found in the junk pile. 1” square tubing with belting for the sling. Vet suggested two separate slings to keep any possible navel infection minimized. Pigging string across fronts shoulders to keep them in but that rare we have to do that
U13 AA Broncos got it done tonight in Nipawin winning the provincial title. Unbelievable and also a little sad that it’s over. What a great group of kids and coaches
