BLITZER: If a Democratic Senate primary were held in Pennsylvania today, do you believe you would win?
FETTERMAN: ... Like, today?
BLITZER: Yeah
FETTERMAN: Uh. Yeah.
it’s so funny how a major part of the rightwing online ecosystem is the same people always claiming to just become republicans for the first time in their life every single election cycle
*2026 El Niño Ahead by a Mile*
It’s remarkable for us scientists to witness El Niño’s evolution. If you had asked us if something like this was possible a year ago, it would have probably been a definitive no. But here we are… already more than 1C (and 3 months) ahead of the next strongest episode in 1997.
This week we breached +2.5°C sea surface temperature anomaly in the East-Central Tropical Pacific. That alone qualifies this as an elite event. But we still have 4 months of temperature rise to go. So we are headed into outer space.
For folks just getting acquainted with El Niño, it’s a warming of the Eastern Tropical Pacific waters. It’s a natural cycle, but it appears this one is boosted by excess heat now being stored in the oceans. El Niño events essentially act as the exhaust of the Ocean, a way to cool itself, at the expense of the atmosphere. So the end result is we see lots of heat injected into the climate system causing all kinds of climate chaos like record #heatwaves, record #wildfires, record #typhoons in the Pacific, and possibly record quiet #hurricanes in the Atlantic (fingers crossed). Come winter it’s gonna be as active as it gets in the US South, so unfortunately we pay the price for a quiet hurricane season.
For perspective here’s where the other recent Super El Nino’s were by now:
* 1982: +0.80°C
* 1997: +1.50°C
* 2015: +1.44°C
* 2023: +1.04°C
* 2026: +2.55°C

🥊 Abdul El-Sayed comes out swinging 🥊
"Mike Rogers is a guy who wants to put a data center in your backyard so he can make himself feel a little more manly by making an AI video" -- fresh off his primary victory, AES held a presser in which he took strong shots at Mike Rogers and responded to the Islamophobia that's already coming from Republicans, saying, "Mike, listen man, If you can't say the name -- it's Abdulrahman -- keep the name out your damn mouth."
Here's a supercut:
at some point the democratic establishment is going to have to face the music that the voting populace wants progressive candidates that actually move the needle for the working class
the status quo is not gonna cut it anymore. the people have spoken
"I love Judaism and I love the Jewish people.
AIPAC and Israel are not the same as Judaism
The most dangerous thing is expanding antisemitism to include criticism of Israel"
- Abdul El-Sayed Michigan Senate Candidate 2026
Absolutely Correct!
🤪 Trump says lots of crazy stuff in Cali 🤪
During a Fox News interview and subsequent comments to reporters, Trump insisted the US controls the Strait of Hormuz (nope), that he's "taking hundreds of billions of dollars" out of Venezuela (nope), that he deserves "an A+ on the economy" (lol), that "everything is good" in communities around data centers (nope), that "tariffs have been incredible" (maybe for him), that "tape" shows vandals did in fact damage the reflecting pool (nope), and then he capped it off by saying of Rep. Max Miller, who's credibly accused of abusing his daughter and child, "I feel badly for him."
Here's a supercut:
“To protect a little rodent” I can’t even voice my rage right now. They are going to kill innocent animals and destroy their environment. They’re going to destroy sacred land and national parks that have been protected for decades. All these people do is destroy. Something has to be done to protect these animals and land. Someone needs to do something.
They nuked the job market so badly so they could get free willing soldiers into their regime
Propagandized them so well that they made them think all of it is a good thing
I will always hate this stupid country
