Respectfully, check the law before you speak. Cap 107 Section 10 requires Kenyans to produce IDs when lawfully asked. If your ID was lost, just say that,but claiming 'no law' won't save you from arrest under Section 17A. Know your rights, but also know your duties.

While driving from Lamu, I was stopped by KDF officers who demanded to see my ID. I told them I don’t have it because I usually don’t carry it for fear of losing it.

They told me it’s illegal not to be in possession of my ID. I told them to show me the law that says so. Obvious they couldn’t because there’s no such law.
