@pharm_labs Shibas vs cats is a great hook. One idea: flash the pack size big right before each cat fight, so players feel their gate picks paid off (or didn't). Do new gate types show up across the 50 levels, or is it mostly tougher fights?
Build in public, night 5 of posting every day: my 5 Android apps made $1.08 from ads yesterday, the best day this month. November so far is $2.60 against a $35 goal. Most of it comes from the astro photo editor, on far fewer ad views than the other apps.
Volcano Rim gives fire weapons a boost, so this one is two shots: three Dragon Breath flames, then Phoenix Plume for the KO. Still tuning these Diwali-week clips for my artillery game. #indiedev#gamedev
@MrisFoxy0 The cockpit detail looks great for a browser sim. One thing from the screenshot: the green HUD text gets hard to read over the bright terrain, a thin dark outline or slight shadow on it would help a lot. Is gamepad support on the list?
@ahmedmostafa_tw Big step up. The mix of hats and body shapes already makes the crowd read as individuals. If you have time for one more pass, tiny reactions (a few heads turning, someone leaning back laughing when a card lands) would sell it more than extra modeling.
Quick time-lapse math before you go out tonight: 30 frames make one second of video at 30 fps. So 300 frames = a 10-second clip. Decide how long you want the video, then work back to how many frames to shoot.
Tonight's Tankbound clip: two Party Crackers to soften the target, then a Big Shot for the KO. I'm building this turn-based artillery game solo, with islands that crumble under every hit. #indiedev#gamedev
The stacking was done on the phone with Trailium, a free Android app I make. Its Night preset shoots all night and builds the trails: https://t.co/B5pvy5catf
Taurids peak tonight into tomorrow. Few meteors, but the ones you get are often slow fireballs. If you leave a phone shooting all night, a fireball shows up as one bright straight line crossing trails like these (this stack has none, sadly).
Made a Diwali clip for my artillery game: oil spilled on the hill, one Candle Lob to light it, a Fireball to finish. Combos like oil + fire carry over between turns, so you can set them up a shot ahead. #indiedev#gamedev
Astro tip: plan around the moon like you'd plan around a streetlight. A thin crescent, or a moon that's already set, can roughly double the stars your phone picks up. Check moonrise before you pack the tripod.
One frame vs 300 frames of the same patch of sky, both from a phone. Most of those stars were in the first shot too, just too faint to register. Stacking adds them up.
Quiet way to lose a whole night of star trails: notifications.
One message can light up the screen, leak light into the frame or stop the shutter, and you only find out in the morning. Airplane mode on before a long sequence, every time.
