@Ryan_Loonan @Mildertduck @laurapurkess @CodingAndThings @danniscotty@SF_England ... numbers) is Β£31,770. Which will be less than a lot of students original loan balances.
If that's the case it would be more lucrative to take a loan than to pay up front.
But you have to tot up career pay prospects before you go.
@Ryan_Loonan @Mildertduck @laurapurkess @CodingAndThings @danniscotty@SF_England If you're projected payments on your loan over 30 years are less than your initial borrowing for your course cost, you've done well. It's the above average but not high earners who are pedalling without any wheels. Β£1059 a year (if consistent over 30 years as we can't predict..
@Ryan_Loonan @Mildertduck @laurapurkess @CodingAndThings @danniscotty@SF_England It is beneficial for the lower earners. Who will have paid less than the cost of a university education, to get one. It's the ones paying e.g.Β£200~+ a month off them that may never repay all the interest, but have paid their capital sum, that are paying more than they borrowed.
@KingBobIIV@RugbyKids_ @NReclining The cashback thing would have gone over my head as a financial abuse escape route. So there must be other things I could be unaware of. It would be interesting to know what to look for in strangers. Friends and family it's easier to spot. But those chance encounters...
@KingBobIIV@RugbyKids_ @NReclining What can others do to help? Obviously you managed to leave. But aside from friends, who we would be able to help more directly, what could we look out for? How could we (gently) offer help to others who aren't close to us? What else might we see that shows us this happening?...
@RoylePin@MeetingRoberts This exchange has been a joy to read.
Have you considered maybe a post doctorate post at the large hadron collider for maybe an afternoon a week if you can squeeze it in next to your vet med degree and your normal job Charlotte? Just thinking outside the (very thick metal) box.
@grainnemcanee I'm so glad that your families were able to find each other after such a terrible loss for them. The 3 of them were so unlucky to lose her and then so lucky to find you. I'm sure somewhere Karen knows how much her daughters are loved by everyone.
@charliersmith1 This is such a clever way to express something so complex.
I hope you're able to feel much better very soon.
I'm sure your followers would love to read more of your work if you want to create more.
@ruskin147 A very interesting piece. But kept willing the presenter to ask about Sophie at the end, and she never did. So I've had to come straight here to see how the dog is π
@did_40 @simonharris_mbd When rates were low rent could often be higher. Now it's less obvious, depending on area. Β£200k house here 30yrs @5.4% Β£1124 pcm 100% mortgage, local rents for it are Β£850. Β£152,000 100% mortgage is Β£854. So can't buy the same house on 100% mortgage that you can rent for Β£850.
@Jax06153243@nazirafzal ... which is pretty average over the long term. So you'd have 47 years of compound payments. Your pot at 68 would be Β£1,048,000.
I wish I'd started much earlier at 21 and didn't think a pension would wait and I could catch up a bit later.
@Jax06153243@nazirafzal It depends both when you start and what you put in.
If you started paying in Β£200pm to a pension at 21 (not counting any employer contributions) and increased that Β£200 by 2% per year (very low inflation rate given current circs), and you got a 6% average annual return...
@charliersmith1 You've had a challenging few months. Progress in anything is rarely linear. I very much enjoy your updates and hope you're back to your best soon. Best wishes.
@frugally_minded Fingers crossed that food pantries tag themselves online with food bank, cheap food, food aid or whatever to increase traffic from those in need. But that's down to the IT abilities of the page owner I suppose, which will vary.
@frugally_minded Hopefully if people Google a few of these things they'd find something nearby. Olio, food bank, food pantry, social supermarket, fareshare, community allotment or whatever. Most places have something going on in this area.
