The transfer of Magistrate Smt. Gayatri, from Malur to Humnabad, Bidar, has once again, following yesterday’s orders, brought attention to a worrying trend. We have repeatedly heard that officers are threatened with transfers to North Karnataka, particularly Kalaburagi and Bidar, as a form of punishment.

This sends the wrong message. These districts deserve dedicated officers who are posted there to drive development, not those who arrive under the shadow of punishment transfers.

If officers were committed to serving these regions and politicians were equally committed to their development, North Karnataka would have achieved far greater progress, especially in irrigation, by now.

I hope these districts are never treated merely as destinations for punishment transfers, but as regions that receive the attention, and committed leadership they truly deserve.

Bengaluru Metro's Pink Line underground section: BMRCL said it will energise 33kV cables & 750V DC third rail between Pottery Town and Nagawara from Aug 10.

Sources said passenger operations are unlikely to begin soon as BMRCL has 204 vacant Station Controller/Train Operator posts. Recruitment process & mandatory training are expected to take about a year before services can commence.

Another day, another example for Gadkari Ji and Puri Ji.

A 2025 Skoda Slavia, manufactured in October 2025 with just 16,000 km on the odometer, broke down on the road. The owner had to call RSA.

The injectors were replaced, and imagine this the car had just been serviced on Saturday, yet it broke down again on Sunday on a main highway.

The explanation given? Either E20 fuel or adulterated fuel by Skoda India.

Who is going to answer for this? If a relatively new car with just 16,000 km can face such an issue, what confidence should owners have?

And the bigger question what if the vehicle had been out of warranty?

Are even 2025 models not fully compatible, or is something else going wrong that needs to be addressed? 🙏🏻
