🇺🇸🇧🇷 OPINION: THE U.S. LIFTING SANCTIONS ON JUSTICE ALEXANDRE DE MORAES WAS THE FINAL BLOW TO BRAZIL'S DEMOCRACY

Just 5 months ago, the U.S. hit Brazil’s censor-in-chief, Justice Alexandre de Moraes, with sanctions for jailing dissidents, censoring social media, and acting like a one-man Supreme Court.

Sadly, it didn't last long. The sanctions were just lifted, and Brazil's tyranny shrugged off like it’s last season’s scandal.

To Brazilians watching their country slide into strongman rule, it feels like betrayal.

Justice Alexandre "Voldemort" de Moraes had become infamous for kicking in doors and freezing accounts just because someone tweeted the wrong thing.

Americans noticed. Sanctions came. For a second, it looked like someone finally cared.

That second’s over. The excuse? Trade talks and some vague political amnesty.

The result? Lula’s loyal court stays stacked, dissenters stay scared, and the U.S. has left Brazil’s pro-democracy movement twisting in the wind.

Let’s be clear. This wasn’t just a slap in the face to free speech. It was the final seal of approval on Brazil’s new reality: courts that answer to power, not law.

The people risking their lives to speak out? They just got the message loud and clear. They're on their own.

Brazil’s middle class is already vanishing. Inflation’s eating wages, investment is fleeing, and poverty is creeping back in like mold.

The government offers cash handouts like it’s a fix, but it’s just gasoline on the debt fire.

This is how Argentina collapsed under Peronism: bloated spending, no growth, and a generation stuck paying the bill.

But the real nightmare is what’s happening to Brazil’s institutions. Congress is just background noise now.

Lula’s Supreme Court does the heavy lifting, rubber-stamping decrees and crushing dissent.

It’s starting to look less like pre-Milei Argentina and more like Venezuela with nicer branding.

Judges act like kings, critics are criminalized, and nobody knows who’s next.

And now that the U.S. has walked away, there's no pressure from outside.

No lifeline, no leverage.

Brazil needs a miracle, but so did Venezuela and it never came.

"woke" is a bit of a cringe term now, but calling it "Not ESG" would be too difficult

I scraped ALL hotel chains and sites for stuff like "climate change", "sustainability", "ESG", "carbon neutral" and tagged all of them

So now you can AVOID hotels that:
- limit your AC to 25C/77F (common in Europe)
- skip cleaning you room altogether (last 2 hotels I stay in Europe now)
- have no amenities (again I just stayed in them), and other useless stuff that does nothing to save the world at all
- reduce shower pressure to save water so you can't clean yourself
- charge you extra for your CO2 emissions every day you stay (???)

In fact all of this does the direct opposite of make the world better: it makes everyone hate their stay, sweat and have bad sleep, and be grumpy and unproductive all day

I can’t think of an ad as impactful on my desire to use a brand and aspire to it as the “L’Envol” from @airfrance in 2011.

According to Sahih al-Bukhari, Muhammad’s final words included: “May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians. They made the graves of their prophets into places of worship.”

Those are words associated with his final moments.

No forgiveness. No reconciliation. No peace.

Now compare that to Jesus.

Beaten, betrayed, tortured, hanging on a cross with nails through His wrists, Jesus says:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

And then: “It is finished.”

One dies speaking curses.

The other dies extending forgiveness.

One ends by drawing lines and reinforcing division.

The other tears the veil and reconciles heaven and earth.

And whether people like it or not, final words reveal something deeply personal about the heart.

That contrast shook me.

Because one man’s final moments reinforced separation, while the other’s changed eternity through mercy, sacrifice, and love.

Over the past few weeks, I have been watching the industry's movements closely, and the reemergence of Anita Sarkeesian as a relevant figure is deeply concerning. This is someone who has already done far too much damage to the video game industry with her toxic and hateful ideas, combined with the influence she somehow still holds within the industry.

I see a situation very similar to what we had with Sweet Baby Inc.: a malicious individual trying to use video games to spread twisted and hateful ideologies, using gaming as a vehicle for propaganda.

That is why I have decided to start including games connected to Anita Sarkeesian in the Sweet Baby Inc. Detected curator.

We need not only to warn players that the game they are thinking about buying may be helping fund Anita Sarkeesian's disgusting work, but also to send a clear message to the industry that WE WILL NOT ACCEPT OUR ENTERTAINMENT BEING TURNED INTO PROPAGANDA. PERIOD.

However, I cannot do this alone, not this time. Unlike Sweet Baby Inc., Anita Sarkeesian does not provide a ready made list of games she has worked on through her official website. She does list clients, but not specific games. And I simply cannot spend endless hours every day tracking down and investigating these titles anymore. Life happens. Bills need to be paid, and I have to focus on work that actually brings financial return. I am being completely honest with you here.
