It may feel like much of the world is dark, corrupt, and deteriorating. Like injustice is winning. Like the light is dimming. When violence and the killing of children is justified. When politicians turn a blind eye. When media twist narratives to fit an agenda, flooding our screens with distractions, shallowness and material pursuits.

And yet, there is something greater than all of that. A light that heals, replenishes, forgives. A source far greater to belong to and be strengthened by. It’s all around us. And within us. We find it when we seek it.

How many others whose names appear on the list have never faced persecution?

Evil and crimes against children are tragically rife in this world. Those who question it or seek the truth are often the ones punished, while perpetrators remain protected.

Earthly justice may fail. But spiritual justice does not. That is the kind of accountability I would fear. God will take care of what humans neglect.

If you target children, you target something pure and precious to God.

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.” Matthew 18:6.

Thinking about these times feels incredibly heavy. Writing this made me tear up. But we aren’t powerless.

We can seek wisdom.
We can stay awake to truth.
We can speak out publicly or quietly when we feel called.
And we can work on ourselves, choosing to live better, braver and closer to the light.

We each have a part 🌹
