🚆 Kabaka Puttur Railway Station deserves a halt for the proposed Bengaluru–Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express
The ongoing trial run of the proposed Bengaluru–Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express has generated considerable interest among railway users across Coastal Karnataka. At this important stage, we request that Kabaka Puttur Railway Station be considered for a scheduled halt when the regular service is introduced.
Kabaka Puttur Railway Station is situated in Puttur, one of the important and rapidly growing urban centres of Dakshina Kannada district. Puttur is an important commercial, educational and administrative centre of Dakshina Kannada and serves as a major hub for a large surrounding hinterland. The importance of Puttur extends well beyond the town itself, with people from Sullia, Uppinangady, Bellare, Vitla and several surrounding rural and semi-urban areas depending on Puttur for education, employment, business, healthcare, trade and other essential services.
Kabaka Puttur is therefore not merely a railway station serving Puttur town; it is an important railway access point for a large passenger catchment across rural part of Dakshina Kannada. A significant number of students, IT professionals, private-sector employees, government employees, businesspersons, traders and other regular travellers use the railway to travel towards Bengaluru and other destinations.
The strong patronage of existing Bengaluru-bound trains passing through Kabaka Puttur clearly demonstrates the established passenger demand from this region. Bengaluru is one of the most important destinations for the people of Puttur and the surrounding areas for education, employment, business, healthcare and other purposes. The proposed Bengaluru–Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express would provide a faster and more comfortable travel option, and providing a halt at Kabaka Puttur would enable passengers from this large hinterland to directly access the service from their nearest major railway station.
At present, passengers from the Puttur–Sullia–Vitla belt who wish to access faster premium services may have to depend on road transport to other railway stations. A halt at Kabaka Puttur would eliminate this additional travel requirement and provide a direct, convenient and time-saving option for a large number of railway users.
Kabaka Puttur also has considerable pilgrimage and tourism potential, providing convenient access to important destinations such as Mahatobhara Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Vitla Shri Panchalingeshwara Temple and Shri Kshethra Gejjegiri, besides numerous other religious, cultural and natural attractions in the surrounding region. Improved rail connectivity would further support tourism, pilgrimage and economic activity in southern Dakshina Kannada.
The growing importance of Kabaka Puttur as a railway station is also reflected in the passenger amenity improvements sanctioned by Indian Railways. With the station being strengthened through improved passenger facilities, providing an appropriate premium train halt would further enhance the usefulness of these investments and provide better connectivity to railway users.
We fully understand that train scheduling, sectional capacity, operational feasibility and journey time are important considerations while deciding additional halts. However, a scheduled halt at Kabaka Puttur would involve only a limited additional stoppage time while potentially providing substantial benefits in terms of passenger convenience, occupancy, revenue generation and regional connectivity. Considering the large catchment area served by the station, the importance of Puttur as a growing urban centre and the strong existing demand for Bengaluru-bound trains, Kabaka Puttur has a genuine and strong case for consideration.
This is not a demand limited to Puttur town. Kabaka Puttur serves a much larger railway-user population across Dakshina Kannada, including Sullia, Uppinangady, Bellare, Vitla and numerous surrounding villages and towns. Providing a Vande Bharat halt would ensure that the benefits of modern and high-speed rail connectivity reach the interior parts of the district as well.
Therefore, wenearnestly request Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw sir, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways Shri @VSOMANNA_BJP sir, @SWRRLY , @DrmMys and Hon’ble MP @CaptBrijesh sir to kindly take up this important passenger demand with the Railway Board and the concerned authorities and examine the feasibility of providing a scheduled halt at Kabaka Puttur Railway Station for the proposed Bengaluru–Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express.
As the trial run is currently being undertaken between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, we believe this is the appropriate time to consider the passenger requirements of important intermediate stations before the final timetable and stoppages are decided.

Deeply hurt by the brutal killing of our young karyakarta, Trilochan Mahato in Balarampur,West Bengal. A young life full of possibilities was brutally taken out under state’s patronage. He was hanged on a tree just because his ideology differed from that of state sponsored goons.
Hon’ble @CMofKarnataka I m sorry but you have the worst traffic management, and most irresponsible, useless traffic police. They don’t even pick up phone calls, here is the SS of my attempt to speak to them , none of them picked up my call. Last one hour we are stuck at same place in Rajkumar samadhi road, going to miss flight, tomorrow I have to attend parliament session. Not a single police man is seen around
These inefficient officers are enough to spoil the name and charm of this beautiful city. No doubt now Bengluru traffic has earned the reputation of most notorious traffic @CPBlr@Jointcptraffic
Prakash Raj thinks illegal migration is “not illegal” because no human is illegal on earth. 😂
Bhai, try entering his house without permission and say the same line, let’s see if he still preaches philosophy or calls the police!
Congress HC has forced the Karnataka Minister KN Rajanna to resign for contradicting #RahulGandhi on #VoteChori.
He had said Mahadevpura Voter list was prepared under Congress Govt, no objection was raised when the draft was released so why make an issue now. #votechoriexposed
As per the kundali of Bharat in 2047, it will still remain a Hindu majority country, and the flag of Bharat will be hosted by the Hindu prime minister. In 2037, there will be changes in the constitution which will affect minorities. Gajwa E Hind will never succeed in Bharat.
🔴 I urge @ManipalCigna@MediAssistIndia@InsuranceDekho to:
✅ Approve the claim as per IRDAI portability guidelines
✅ Apologize for the distress caused
✅ Fix the internal accountability failure
The patient is 65+. His wife is next in line for surgery.
How can we expect senior citizens to fight technical battles for mistakes they didn’t make?
Is this the new model — reject claims and wait for customers to give up?
Even worse, when I asked for the Medi Assist rep’s employee ID, I was told:
“We are not allowed to share that information.”
How can customers verify who they’re speaking with? Is this how transparency works?
