Does anyone else ever think about how the hunter who shot him probably faced no repercussions for doing so and Alastor's body was likely never found and he just doesn't show up to work one day and no one will ever know with certainty what happened to him 😁
There’s a part of me that believes Alastor’s soul was predestined for Hell regardless of his actions on Earth, which makes all of his preparations to not exist tortured in the afterlife that much more important. Alastor was already shaped in a way Hell could recognize: unusually porous to its power, unusually capable of holding it, and already reaching toward the violence, ritual, consumption, performance, monstrosity, and control that would eventually define him as the Radio Demon.
Rosie saying Alastor’s soul was unlike any she’d ever seen is telling, because Alastor’s soul/shadow in that scene itself appears to have a demonic shape before he’s even dead, implying that there is already another self beneath the human one, something vast enough to cast a different kind of silhouette, something that Rosie can see and touch and understand before Alastor has even crossed over.
She’s impressed — impressed that this human had managed to create a channel strong enough to call a powerful Overlord across the boundary between life and Hell, and that he had done it with the certainty of someone who already knew where he belonged.
Thinking obsessively about Alastor knowing he was destined for Hell far before his first kill.
Hell had never frightened him, he knew that’s where he’d end up, had figured as such from the first time he had sat in those church pews with his mother as a child, felt the statued eyes of the crucified Jesus glaring down at him like a warning. Hell would be punishment, fire, eternal suffering - but, for Alastor, perhaps it could be something else entirely - a structure, a system with rules that might be learned, studied, bent in ways he wasn’t afforded in life.
i love that there’s this unspoken list of cannon events that happen w murdermedia
- vincent moving / visiting new orleans
- al being the dom in their relationship
- there’s never a label for their relationship, not boyfriends, not really “partners” either

‘'Alastor is reincarnated into a college kid and living a normal life, but things from his past come back to haunt him and pull him back into some old habits”

Amir saying that he normally sits to record, but in Season 3, he was doing a lot of pacing in the booth to capture Alastor being agitated is the best thing to hear as evidence for Alastor’s angst arc.
