💭 An observation on our legends. The 99 group, well some of them, seem Old and grumpy. Then there is the 08 group who are fully backing their mate in Carrick. I doubt the 99 group wouldn’t have backed Ole if he got the job the second time instead of Carrick. Sense a bit of hate/agenda cos of the decision to go with Carrick whom this generation of players is more familiar with. You just have to look at the ages of the players in our squad. Maguire and Casemiro were 6/7 year olds in 99. They were 14/15 year olds by 2008. Bruno Fernandes was only 5 years old in 99. He was 14 in 2008. You look at players in their mid 20s like Cunha, Mbeumo and de ligt,they were just born when we won the treble but where 8 year olds when they saw us lift the UCL in Moscow. Then there are those like Kobbie and Yoro who were 4 year olds in 2008. Most of the players from 99 are known to them from YouTube comps or where seen when they were at the twilight of their careers whereas a lot the 08 group were actually seen, watched and idolized by majority of the current team. That’s what made Carrick perhaps a better choice for the interim role NOW instead of Ole. Carrick was there in the good times as a player and was also there in the bad times as both a player and an assistant coach. He has quite literally seen it all. Sense jealousy, envy and a luck of common sense at times amongst the older generation.

💭 Carrick speaks like a Manchester United boss, looks like a United boss and definitely coaches like one till this point BUT even him, despite his extensive association with the club and his current form as our coach SHOULD’NT gather an army of zombies d*ckriding him at this point. We shouldn’t go down that road for any coach. He has a job to do which is to qualify us for UCL football. He should achieve his goal without an avalanche of excuses that was made for a certain dude who came in mid season as well last season. After that we can have a proper conversation as to his future with the club.
