It’s time to build a Department of Public Safety. It’s clear the process of building the department we need cannot happen under Mayor Frey.
It’s time for him to resign and let the real work begin.
Our collective liberation will not wait.

REVIEW: SUCH COLOR BY TRACY K. SMITH (GRAYWOLF PRESS)
"[There is a] willingness to engage space as a living entity, something that is at once incomprehensible and animate". - @RonnieKStephens

Interrupting my Twitter silence to say happy Minneapolis election day - today I'm excited to stop getting campaign flyers in the mail & also to vote #NoYesYes on charter amendments, rank @SheilaFTP #1 / @kateknuth #2 for mayor, & vote @CunninghamMPLS for W4 city council.
Today - after a corporate developer and members of the opposition sued to try to take away your ability to vote on this question - a judge ruled that the ballot question to expand public safety must again be rewritten.
Our grassroots campaign raised $119k so far this year! We're running this campaign like Sheila will run the city: People-First. The majority of funds paid our local, queer & multiracial campaign team & we've canvassed 20K voters already!

I wanted to take a minute to talk about the "American Rescue Plan" (ARP) money that's coming into Minneapolis. This is federal money that went to the mayor to decide how it will be spent.
This Friday (7/2) the council can change and vote on his proposal.
Communities are demanding justice for Daunte Wright.
The violent response by police & military is unconscionable.
Today, local elected officials across MN demand @GovTimWalz, @MayorFrey & Sheriff Hutchinson end Operation Safety Net’s approach immediately.
📝 Their statement:
Hey Minneapolis, there's a big thing you could be doing right now to acquire power for things you care about: Register to caucus, check the box to become a delegate. Candidates & elected officials will call you desperate to know what you need from them.

Pay close attention to the journalists and publications who are the first to point out aggression and looting from protesters instead of police violence and STOP GIVING THEM YOUR FOLLOWS AND MONEY.
