CONFERENCE SPEAKER EQUITY SPOTLIGHT
We have some EXCELLENT speakers addressing equity topics at our upcoming conference!
Because of these speakers, some attendees have reported that their colleges are providing them with funding to attend.
Ask your college to do the same!
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

REGISTRATION DELAY
Hi folks, we are so sorry, but there are some logistical issues that came up with our conference registration.
We are working to fix the issue as soon as possible, and we will let you know when you can register.
Hang tight!
@FACCC@SenatorLeyva@SenDaveCortese@DrPanMD@ilike_mike Saying that offering pre-transfer math courses is still allowed *as long as* the requirement cannot be met by a transfer level course is the same as saying offering pre-transfer courses is NOT allowed.
Important nuance in the #AB1705 conversation: "I supported the push to reduce remedial classes in California's community colleges. This new bill goes too far". @SenatorLeyva@SenDaveCortese@DrPanMD@ilike_mike

Jet lag shmet lag. Showing up for *all* community college students today, not just those who are interested in or able to transfer to a 4 year school in 2 years #NoOnAB1705@CMC3N@SenatorLeyva@Steve_Glazer
I am attending my very first Senate Education Committee Hearing!!! Representing @CMC3N in the AB1705 discussion. Looking forward to seeing @ilike_mike in person for the first time.
#ab1705 sends the message that CA will spend money only on community students who are prepared for transfer level courses out of high school.
Give students THE CHOICE to take the courses they want and need to take.

"Everyone's path in math os very different, and mine is no exception" - Rocco
One @SrjcStem student points out the importance of remedial math courses.
#ab1705 needs to be amended further

"These elementary math courses are a second chance" - Cyrus
Our students remind us how crucial it is for students to HAVE THE CHOICE to take courses like algebra and pre-algebra.
Tomorrow is the hearing on #ab1705 and we hope to see it further amended.

This is about students’ ability to choose.
This is about education where we meet students where they are and help them get to where they want to go.
But mostly it’s about communities serving communities #AB1705 @AsmJoseMedina @ASM_Irwin https://t.co/TyKdQ9a8Fb
#AB1705 passed in committee today. Proud to partner with @CMC3N and @FACCC on behalf of CTE students, non-traditional students, and BIPOC students interested in STEM fields. We remain committed to working with our legislators to serve all students @AsmJoseMedina@ASM_Irwin
I told my topology class this math joke:
Every proof in real analysis begins: "Let ɛ>0."
Every proof in abstract algebra begins: "Let G be a group."
Every proof in topology begins: "Nothing up this sleeve... Nothing up this sleeve..."
