Before 2020, I was always leaving the house every day of the week to work.
Sometimes, I would return home at 8 or 9pm.
Once I enter the house, my wife would welcome me.
On the TV, she would be watching one movie or series.
Then she will change the channel to CNN or BBC for me and ask me to go shower and have dinner.
"This is what you stay at home all day to do. Watch Telemundo or Zee world. You stay at home all day doing nothing. I go out every day to earn money to provide you for you and these children. Lazy woman!"
She won't say anything to me.
She'll go to the kitchen and wait for me to shower before dishing out my food.
I would notice that her eyes were blurry.
In the morning, I would be off by latest 6:30 am.
One day, I came back home, and my wife said that she wanted to discuss with me.
"Sweetie, I am depressed. I want to go back to work. I feel like I am useless in this marriage and I am not contributing anything to it. Please, help me find a job"
I blasted her and told her that I got a job without her, and I used my qualifications to apply, and that she should do same.
My wife cried so much that night.
Then came covid 19...
My office had asked us to start working from home.
Monday to Friday, I was home working.
My kids were still going to school under strict covid rules.
I started studying my wife more.
This woman was not resting.
I figured that she was only watching those series or shows just to stay awake to welcome me back home.
She was busier than I was.
She showed me what it meant to have a wife who is a housewife.
One day, I could not take it anymore.
"Baby, you have been asking me to pay you monthly salary, I think you're right. I will be giving you the money"
Covid made me appreciate my lovely wife, more.
Despite dating her for 9 years, I still could not see that God had blessed me enormously.
Because I was carried away by my female colleagues that were age mates with me and working.
And I wanted my wife to "fit in".
I was wrong.
That was why in 2021, I came here to write that a housewife that is playing her role effectively and efficiently without bringing a dime is not a liability.
It took me years into marriage to realize this.
My lovely wife is a hard worker.
And I have seen and still seeing the results of her hardwork on our lovely children.
Our children are so smart and they're high flyers in their schools.
Not only that, they are well behaved and very respectful and contented with what they have.
All made possible because of my lovely wife.
As a man, if you have a wife like mine, please be kind and be patient with her.
Yes, she may not be bringing money, but that's not her primary role or responsibility.
Your Lovely wife is more valuable to you than the money that you hope to be getting from her.
Only if you will open your brain and mind to understand me.
End.
Dear RN,
Whenever you decide to move on from your current workplace, make sure you leave on a good note.
You may need them sooner or later, so always stay in control of your emotions.
Cheers 🥂
May be you should take ₦100k–₦150k and build yourself a proper job-hunting machine.
Open an Upwork account. Buy some Connects and start applying strategically. Connects are currently $0.15 each, so you don't need to burn money applying to 500 random jobs.
Get your LinkedIn profile properly positioned. If Premium Career is available to you, use it for the job-search tools, advanced filters and InMail, not because Premium magically gets you a job. LinkedIn currently lists Premium Career from $39.99/month, although actual pricing can vary by location and promotions.
Then create a proper Fiverr profile and package your skill into services people can actually buy.
The goal isn't:
"I want to make ₦1m."
The goal is:
2 clients × $300 = $600
1 client × $500 = $500
2 small jobs × $150 = $300
That's $1,400.
At roughly ₦1,500/$, that's about ₦2.1m.
Or forget the exchange-rate calculation and make it even simpler:
Get one $500 client.
Get another $500 client.
Get two $250 clients.
You've made $1,500.
You don't need 50 clients. You need a few people who have a problem you can solve and are willing to pay you for solving it.
If you're a designer, sell landing pages, social media designs, presentations and brand assets.
If you're a writer, sell email sequences, website copy, LinkedIn content and newsletters.
If you're a video editor, sell short-form videos, YouTube editing and repurposing.
If you're a marketer, sell email marketing, CRM setup, lead generation, automation and campaign management.
If you're a developer, sell websites, integrations, bug fixes, automation and small software projects.
And don't just sit on Upwork.
Every day:
10 targeted Upwork applications.
10 LinkedIn conversations with founders, hiring managers or potential clients.
5 direct cold emails.
2 Fiverr gigs properly optimised.
1 piece of content showing your work or expertise.
Do that consistently for 30 days.
And please, don't spend ₦500k trying to "look professional."
You don't need an expensive laptop, fancy office or 15 subscriptions.
You need a skill, a portfolio, a good profile, internet, and enough money to survive while you search.
Keep most of the ₦500k as your runway.
Use a small portion to acquire opportunities.
Then your vacation isn't funded by somebody feeling sorry for you.
It's funded by money you generated.
That's a completely different feeling.
No dey rage bait us, thanks.
Dear RN,
How to Document frequent call outs.
Patient A&O x3. Frequent loud call-outs for staff noted throughout the shift. Staff responded to each episode and assessed for safety and immediate needs.
Interventions included repositioning, comfort adjustments, and keeping the call light and belongings within reach. Patient instructed to use the call light for assistance.
Call-outs persisted despite these measures. On reassessment, patient often denied pain or other specific needs and was unable to state an additional request. Patient remained safe. Frequent rounding continued. Staff interactions remained calm, respectful, and professional.
Plan of care ongoing.

Dear RN,
3 tips for IENS after JAPA.
-Learn to listen more
-Take feedbacks professionally not personally
-You can’t please everyone
So fvck it!
Cheers 🥂
Dear RN,
There is nothing like
“Patient spent the shift peacefully”
“Due cares rendered”
It’s vague and can’t defend you when litigation comes up.
Cheers 🥂
Dear RN,
Example of documentation about Refusing Interventions
Declines IV antibiotics and renal ultrasound. Educated on the importance of antibiotics and diagnostic imaging for proper care and evaluation.
Patient verbalizes understanding of risks and benefits but continues to decline. Alert and oriented x4, speaking clearly.
Made aware he can reconsider at any time. Vital signs are stable, see flowsheets. Provider made aware of patient’s refusal.
It’s not enough just to say patient refused medication.
Document to prevent any liabilities
Cheers 🥂
