"History books will say they lost, but real ones know it was just a severe case of continental allergies. Napoleon the Pig would love modern football politics."
Apparently, Senegal and Egypt didn't actually lose their matches. The referees just looked at the scoreboard, looked at the map, and decided some football boots are more equal than others."

The Commissioner-General of Police, Stephen Mutamba has commissioned a state of the art newly constructed Siakobvu Police Station which comprise an administration office block, station hall and staff quarters. It is with profound sadness that we learn of the passing of Comrade Victor Matemadanda, a dedicated son of the soil, veteran of the liberation struggle, and a resolute leader.
Cde Matemadanda’s life was defined by his unwavering commitment to the independence, sovereignty, and development of Zimbabwe. From the trenches of the liberation war to his senior roles within the party and government—including serving as the Secretary General of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association, Deputy Minister of Defence, and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Mozambique—he stood as a fierce defender of the revolution.
His fiery rhetoric, fearless leadership, and dedication to the welfare of war veterans left an indelible mark on the nation’s political landscape. He was a man of conviction who never wavered in his loyalty to the ideals of the struggle.
We extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to the Matemadanda family, President ED Mnangagwa, his comrades-in-arms, and the entire nation during this time of grieving.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Hon. Marian Chombo, Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution, toured the US$600 million Broxmen Investments Industrial Park in Norton. The project includes a 60MW thermal power station due for commissioning in September, with 40MW earmarked for the national grid and capacity expected to reach 210MW at completion.
The park also houses a fertilizer plant, cement plant and Sunny Yi Feng Tiles factory, creating 5,000 direct jobs. Hon. Chombo praised the investment as a boost to industrialisation, employment, agricultural productivity and import substitution in Mashonaland West.
There are some people who argue that it is wrong to celebrate the provision of borehole water in 2026, as if water has an age. What people want is water — clean, safe water. For years, communities have struggled to access clean water, with some walking more than 3 km each day in search of it. When borehole water is brought closer to their doorsteps, people appreciate it. We have never seen anyone refusing to collect clean water from solar‑powered boreholes simply because others choose to be negative. Nevertheless, the future plan is to connect these solar‑powered boreholes directly to every household.
It is important to note that the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme is a necessary short‑term intervention to address water challenges in both urban and rural communities. Meanwhile, government continues to work on major projects such as the Gwai–Shangani Dam, Kunzvi Dam, and other dam initiatives, which will provide long‑term solutions to water shortages in urban areas.

Yesterday, I had the great privilege of hosting Minister Masuka at my farm, Mt. Camel, in Chegutu. The Minister toured the farm, and I am proud to say we are doing excellent work there. I have also had the honor of visiting the Pricabe Farm many times, where I take the opportunity to learn more about farming from President E.D. Mnangagwa.
At our farm, we are engaged in wheat, maize, and potato production, as well as piggery, cattle ranching, and fishing.
President Mnangagwa always reminds us to be productive, productive, and productive-because this is the only way we can build our country.
I sincerely thank Minister Masuka for his visit and for the valuable lessons he shared with us.
