I would think that the teacher who has taught us knows our ability far better than an exam that has been built up into such a massive event How does two hours show our ability over two years of consistent work

@AFCD0N @jxmes38 @owen_bhafc I'm not saying we're victims. I agree your yeargroup has a very unfair disadvantage to precious years. We were not just handed grades though, they're based off a hell of a lot of hard work. Many people have actually lost out on uni places because of the grades they were given

You are taught to pass an exam, not taught so that you actually retain any knowledge thereafter. I struggled with exams but in real life I'm fine under pressure

@ReallyffsReally @JuliaHB1 @stickiebeak1 I'm not naive. Being an adult has its own problems. Emphasis is placed on exams as the outcome of our entire education, they are hard. The courses & workload are hard. You take four years of intense courses and exams and then dismiss the work put into them because we're children

@JuliaHB1 @stickiebeak1 Perhaps Julie, the stress of exams is so absolutely ridiculous that many students find it difficult on the day. Perhaps the teachers who have taught them and know them are aware of the knowledge they have and their abilities in their chosen subjects.

@jxmes38 @owen_bhafc And GCSEs this year too, they also worked very hard. Hopefully the government is able to do the right thing and change the way next year's exams are assessed or something. It's completely unfair for you to sit an exam after so long out of school

I understand that you might not see that and that your exams will be doubly hard and it is completely out of your control. Don't dismiss the hard work we put in though, we did everything except the final exam.

@Dr_BarryAllen @msapplebya @GavinWilliamson (3) I’d also like to let you know that in the UK school system, almost all emphasis is placed on the exam, (for most courses) We are taught to ‘rely on the final exam’ as that is what is marked. Not how many times we put our hand up and answered a question over a year ago.

@Dr_BarryAllen @msapplebya @GavinWilliamson Impact your grade. This hasn’t ever happened before. You’re clearly unaware of how the school system here works. Kindly keep your opinions to yourself instead of accusing an entire cohort of 17 and 18 year olds of not working hard enough. We worked bloody hard and deserve better.
