You might have chosen the wrong person to have this argument.

I had chores from the time that I was 5 years old that included cleaning pens, hauling hay, scooping corn, pressure washing, giving vaccinations, and hauling water when the water lines were frozen. I've been knee deep and soupy shit, the kind of stuff you only ever see on Dirty Jobs and I've done many other things that most people would find disgusting or "too hard". I also walked beans, bailed hay, did chores for other Farmers, and spent 2 1/2 years during high School slinging ice cream and burgers at a Dairy Queen.

All this before I turned 18, when I went to college, that I paid for 100% on my own. No scholarships, no loans, no mom & dad money. I worked all year to pay my bill and had two jobs during the summers mowing lawns and doing landscaping.

For the last 25 years I have been building a business where I don't punch a time clock, I do the work that's necessary for my business and my employees to succeed. That does not usually fit into a 40-hour week.

My parents were never rich and nothing was ever handed to them. In fact, my parents lost their farm and had to file for bankruptcy when they couldn't make loan payments when the market crashed in the late '70s and early '80s.

My Dad dusted himself off and took whatever odd jobs he could get to make ends meet.

Was it hard? Yes.
Did they always get to choose what they wanted to do? No, but the opportunity was always there for those willing to work for it. My folks worked their way up from the bottom at Walmart and eventually became managers. In his later years, my dad ran convenience stores, small town hardware stores, and then drove truck. Opportunities galore!

Yes, I've had immigrants work for me. They started at the same pay rate that everybody does and received raises based on our company KPI system. Productivity is key and will always increase pay with us.

You want to know the craziest thing? I'm not that unique. I know countless people that have a similar story to mine. Why you choose to focus on this skewed perception of greed instead of looking around and appreciateing the work that people in your own backyard are putting in everyday, both citizen and immigrant To improve their lives and subsequently the lives of people around them is beyond me.

Take what I've said to heart or don't. It's not my job to save you, or teach you how to be grateful and appreciate the blessings that are within yours and other people's reach. Call it greed and continue on your path If you want. I highly doubt that path will ever bring you satisfaction.

Big power hunger. Utilities get subsidized to put up wind turbines that never affect an actual power bill or the state's production.

It's another transfer of wealth from the middle class to large corporate oligarchs backed up by the government.

In the meantime, the same overloaded powers continue to eliminate incentives for people to use their own roofs to generate solar power while receiving the tax breaks that were once offered. Again, the restrictions are being orchestrated by huge business that doesn't want competition especially when they can get a government grant to turn farmland into a solar farm and still make a higher margin on its production. It's a mess! This is what happens when you take big business and big government and let them take over your lives.

They're all clowns. The WNBA was positioned to take a huge jump in viewership and relevancy. Instead, they've let horrible leadership be their mouthpiece while shutting down Stars that could truly make the league elevate at a pace not seen since Bird and Magic were rookies. It's tragic watching a Middle School girl mentality orchestrate the worst bed shitting in sports history.

I don't know why anyone ever made that argument. I've got over 25 years selling TV products. Satellite, stream, internet, my company's done it all. Never in history. Would a company like ABC ever choose to make less money on anything. They've simply shifted who the middlemen are.
