In the June 10 NDVI map (first image), notice the low-NDVI (red) areas along the north half of the field. What do you think is causing this pattern?
Why is it showing up only on one side of the field? What field activity during this time frame could have contributed to it?

UPDATE: The post below about the road that West Virginia coal miners came and cut between Bat Cave and Chimney Rock. Well it was sealed off by @FEMA by a metal gate and a sign. Some country boys tore that gate down and started using the road again for supplies.
Now FEMA is looking for $280,000 to seal it off again with a gate, cameras, and armed guards. Those guards are going to be seen as invaders and probably are going to have a very scary night. This is a bad idea FEMA, take the hint and F off before you start a fight you can’t decide when it ends. The road is safe, and there’s no good reason to block it.
This is nothing more than a Black Rock land grab. More information linked below.

1. A lot of continued amazement at the 225 bpa statewide average corn yield for IL printed on Monday by the USDA. With typical variation in yields across the state there has to be some really huge yields in the best parts to pull the average up that high. I have been talking up the possibility of 300 bushel yields here in EC IL as an example.
