Before I go. Please don’t rely on Google for info about myeloma. It’s often scary and out of date. Use recommended leaflets and websites, like Blood Cancer UK. I kept calm and passed info to family and friends from trusted charities. They are working hard, so we can beat cancer.

One thing I'm grateful for, is that the medication I'm on now, wasn't available to people after their stem cell transplants. Thanks to research we are really seeing a lot of development for us living with myeloma. #myelomaawarenessweek

People do that head tilt when they find out you have cancer. “Poor you.” But I am positive about the future. I’m on Lenalidomide to keep me in remission. I have some rough, angry days and tired, emotional days. But there are more positive than bad days…I've counted!

I now allow myself to rest, slow down & sleep. I’m in remission, but I want to be the fittest I can for when it returns.

After 6months of chemo, the UK went into lockdown. I finally had two stem cell transplants in July and Oct 2020. It was grim but I coped. It took a year to regain my energy. But now, I swim 2miles each week and walk over 13,000 steps a day. I’m healthier than I was at 25.

I was diagnosed in Sept 2019, my kidneys were failing at a rapid rate. Looking back, I ignored other symptoms & my GP missed them too. I wasn’t listening to my body, it was screaming classic myeloma symptoms.
