@marcba I'd pick 2. The opportunities in 1 sounds like is driven by company needs. With 2, I'd be spending more time on working on something that is more interesting to me.
For a file upload from a user, it’s common to check their file size or type, especially when restricting them by those two attributes. But one that might get overlooked is the filename.

Filenames of a file from a user should be treated like any other input & always validated before use. OS file naming rules aren't enough to prevent injection attacks.
